I always get criticised for saying Davies is better than Rose overall. And that's not even taking into account the way Danny spoke about the club.

5 assists from LB with his passionate displays, couldn't ask for much more.

Davies has been by far the better LB this season. All things being equal and Rose being at top fitness levels, Danny's obviously got more in his locker just due to his athleticism. But, right now, Davies is the best option for us at LB. He's playing faster than Rose because he simply looks more comfortable at the moment. Rose has not looked like the tenacious little nuisance he was last year, and I think that has a lot to do with him coming back from a long injury lay-off.

Pace has always been an attribute many of us called loudly for. We are definitely lacking that in our FBs. But Davies and Trippier showed us sometimes we don't really need that. Because we are so much fitter than almost the rest of the teams in the league except maybe Citeh (but even Klopp's team fitness level dropped so much when they are a team which I thought fitness level is sky high).

It's like no wonder we seemed to perform even better in second half when opponents' level just dropped and our stamina shone through than just being pacy. And with that Davies and Trippier actually improves in capabilities as the game goes on.

He has definitely earnt the No1 spot. He has made the most of his attributes regardless of any perceived limitations. He has put the best left back in the league polishing the bench with his arse. You could make a similar argument regarding Tripps

Honestly, all things being equal I'm not sure Rose is the better fullback. In the same way that Davies is at the moment a much better left back than Roberto Carlos,

If Rose could refined the form he had last season and before then yes he might be better, but Rose is not a young player anymore, and at that age an injury that long is hard to come back from. Players after injuries often never are the same player they were before them. Even with Rose getting back to Top fitness there is no guarantee that he would be as good as he was in the past.

Either way with Rose's age he really doesn't have too much longer at the top, particularly for such a physical player, Ben Davies is still young and has yet to come into his peak.

What cracks me up is people still try to target him with his lack of pace but he just makes up for it by being such an intelligent footballer
I watched a teammates interview with Winks the other day. He said that Davies is easily the most intelligent in the squad. This certainly transfers into his footballing intelligence as you suggested.

When Rose was a regular and Davies was the backup, I always thought that he looked nervous and played within himself. This season he seems to have grown in confidence and stature and has made the LB position his own. I'm really glad to see Rose back up and running, but I reckon he's really gonna have to work hard to win back his spot. Great for the team.

Davies is hands down first choice left back now. He’s been fantastic this season, especially over the past couple of months. Reliable, intelligent and really good on the ball.

So apparantly I managed to order a shirt with Davies at the back before going to bed after a night out on saturday. Impressed that I actually managed to order the right size.

Drunk me knows his shit.

Apologies if this has been mentioned already, but I think Davies has really improved since we moved to 4 at the back and Son became a regular at LW.

The way in which Son stays wide on the left - and occupies the opponent’s right back - enables Davies to have a positive attacking impact with his passing and crossing. It also means there is less impetus for him to get forward at every attack, as Trippier does on the right.

Without Son in the team, the right back can push up on Davies - as Davies doesn’t have the pace to beat his man, he ends up having to pass square/backwards.

1) Drink a lot
2) Make a team selection for tomorrow
3) E-mail to Pochettino
4) Go to bed

So long since last time I saw somebody else play LB for Tottenham that I'll have to google who the other options at the club are.

He also plays as an Inverted full back when we attack, Son hugs the touch line and Davies plays in field offering another option for a pass and to stop the counter attack.
