I thought there already was a thread about him(obviously not)

We, Arsenal, Napoli and Bayern are all in the race for him. Some reports from Germany are claiming Bayern is his prefered destination

He's come out from nothing and established himself as a regular for Stuttgart and is now (obviously) currently with the french national team playing in the WC

Been a lot of links to bayern for him, some saying it's practically done. Might just be getting linked with others to try and close the deal.

We were linked back in march though.

Think him and Dier are pretty similar players, can play DM, CB, and RB all pretty well.

He's been very good on the ball so far in the WC , looks to have a really nice pass on him for a CB aswell. Might need to bulk up a bit if he comes to the prem but that should come with age. I think Foyth has the potential to be a very similar type of player for us. Also very good on the ball and growing with experience.

Do we need another 'jack of all trades' player? I'd sooner we spent money on quality players in areas of need. I also want to see Foyth get his chance to step up.

Has a release clause for next summer, and Stuttgart is determined to hold onto him until then. Even saying that they are ready to do a deal now for next summer with a club that respect their whishes. Would be a reasonable scenario to hold onto Alderweireld until his 25m clause is activated, and then have Pavard ready to replace him - if we can't solve the Alderweireld situation this summer one way or another.

I think the one poster was just saying he could play in some of those positions due to his skill on the ball - especially dm as I’m not sure if he’s ever actually played there.

Overall I think he’s a quality CB so it fits what you want in a purchase.

Why wouldn't we pay 30m? It's the prices we work with as well these days. Sanchez was more last summer, and we're looking at a replacement for 55m+ Alderweireld.

Don't get fuss over him.. he's not all that defensively.. we have Foyth who has already switched position from am to check..I think he could easily switch to RB .. Trippier has had a great WC if a big offer came in I'd take it ,& get rid of Airier . I think Foyth covering 2 position s wouldn't weaken us.. then go for someone like Nsthrn Ski (,not because he's a great CB.. he's not he's positionally poor) but he's quick a good footballer ,& I think he'd suit uhiw we play & gives DM &lb cover.. meaning we could take good offers for Davies, Wanyama & Dier.. streamline squad & then the likes of Kovscic, Pulisic are financibly viable.. perdonally I'd be going for Cavani & Ceballos

I think he'd be perfect if we want to play 3 at the back and wing backs, like Alderweireld gives us a midfielder passing and skill level defender that can play out from the back.
Also versatility is useful if he's not secured a place in the team.

Rose - Dier - Dembele? - Trippier
Vertonghen - Sanchez - Pavard
Lloris
