Yeah, I am not sure people appreciate that he would play CB for us, but played RB for France. Pretty much the skill set you want in a RCB.

Very interesting for sure. As earlier he said we would bring in minimum 3. Grealish filling one of those and no mention of a CB...

I thought so but last year the player threads and itk threads all got out of whack when people started sharing info from prank itk accounts on twitter so I try to be cautious when sharing non-news outlet pieces.

Although I understand why, Toby's situation could possibly not resolve until end of August with a late European club making an effort while our window has already closed and leaving us deciding between selling and being low on depth or not and being possibly stuck with a disgruntled player.

Ok that's a fair point and I'll take it though I have seen Alderwiereld, Vertonghen and Dier play as a full back and they've all looked better doing it.
Anyway it seems like we aren't in for him how so we'll have to see how he does at Bayern.

I am certain that we will not sell any player that we do not want to sell - particularly after the deadline. European teams will know this - teams understand how transfers work, with selling teams needing replacements if they sell key players. No team in Europe is big enough to force a sale - not even the Spanish giants.

Still trying to get my head around why it depends on Toby, all I can think is that if Toby stays we won't buy a central defender but if he goes we will try to buy a central defender, although that doesn't mean Pavard specifically.

Maybe Pavard is seen as someone that can cover not only central defence but right back or even play in midfield if he is the one we want then maybe rumours early in the window from one of itk people that we are prepared to listen to offers for aurier are true

I prefer De Ligt to Pavard but he does tick a load of boxes. Young, talented, adaptable, good on the ball.
