I doubt he'll see much league action, more cup, but given the number of games PSG played last season, he will doubtless see more action for them than us! Suppose you have to see it as a calculated risk: Take the chance that you might be twiddling your thumbs and weigh it up against the opportunity to join a big club, play alongside top players and raise your profile in the hope of getting a national call-up.

Or to put it another way: PSG...or Watford? What'll it be, BC?

We played 56 games last season I believe.

Really strange one this. I know I'll get the "yeah right BC" on this but I can't help feeling someone mixed up the Stambouli and Capoue transfers. Stambouli's qualities would have suited a battling new team and I think Capoue's skills could have actually come to the fore at somewhere like PSG rather in a basement scrap with Watford. I know Capoue wouldn't have got automatic starts at PSG either, but his skill set would have more tuned into a team who play 433 with two dynamic CM's either side , quite like to break from deep at times but also often dominate the ball. He could have been a decent stand in for when Motta was out.

I don't know - I think signing for Watford could be the best thing Capoue has done. He has all the tools, but none of the application. Now he's going to have to scrap to help them stay up, he's going to want to prove us wrong: this could potentially be the breakthrough he needs to change his attitude to mentally become the player he should be.

See my post above. No doubt money is a factor and it's PSG so kudos also, but if the wages were close I'd have thought playing every game of the season rather than 5 might have actually been quite appealing. Careers stagnate and die for players like Stambouli at clubs like PSG.

I know this will seem like making excuses, but he needs players around him that are on a similar wavelength. For me it's a bad fit, like putting Pirlo in Sam Allardyce's Bolton. He'll spend all his time doing the things he's not so great at and very little doing the things he is. At PSG, in there 433 I think he could actually have more conducive conditions and they would have got a player less industrious than Stambouli but with more viable talent for their circumstances.

This isn't me saying capoue is good enough to play regularly for PSG, it's just me saying I think they would have got more squad benefit from him than they will from Stambouli.

Or, maybe playing alongside him will make the others raise their game to match him (or try to)? Perhaps they'll build a side around him. We saw last year the benefits of somebody like Cambiasso at Leicester.

I sort of feel that landing at somewhere like PSG would be the worst possible thing for Capoue because it would make him lazy and complacent. Stambouli will probably try and grasp every opportunity on the pitch afforded to him, but i'm not sure I could say the same of Capoue. You're right about him being a good fit playing wise though.;)

Why hasn't this been announced yet? Didn't the PSG manger say he could feature in a friendly Tuesday? (Today)

Friendly is tomorrow at 8:30pm eastern time (1:30am for those in England). They weren't at the arena today but if I see him tomorrow you'll be the first to know.

Not up anymore - but this one seems over the line.
The same thing happened with Gylfi on Swansea's site when he was sold. Was on their site before any announcements made...That, too, was quickly removed.

Just a quick heads up that the news of the transfer is enough, photo evidence is not required especially in light of SC's rules on copyright. Thanks.
