Not sure where the loan a young player comes from?
I was just thinking it was to quick to write stambouli off after just one season when players often take time adapting to premier league... This clause suggest we still have some hopes for him but a permanent transfer instead of a loan could mean a loan between the clubs is beeing discussed for another player...
You cant loan two players from the same team in the same league?
If we are to send someone out to loan at watford i think it would be a younger player we have hopes for perhaps young milos?

Bentaleb, Mason, Alli, Dembele, Player to be named later
We've also got Toby who can play in the midfield during dire straits. (y)

And actually before we had him, I saw Stambouli as our sort-of last-ditch CB/DM. Now we have someone who fits that bill in Toby, so I can see why Stambouli's services may no longer be as required.

Doubt it would be milos. We have just sold them two dm's. Unless he plays in defence. But if you are prepareing for a relegation battle would you risk someone with little experience?

So in CM we're left with:

Bentaleb (rate him highly and think he'll only get better)

Mason (think ok squad option but I've got question marks if good enough as a starter and I don't like him and Benaleb as a pairing)

Dembele (not suited to a Poch CM at all and unless a drastic change in his playing style I can't see how he'll be a regular and effective starter in CM)

Ali (never played a minute in championship let alone PL, big prospect but question mark if he's ready)

Carroll (poor at QPR and questionable at Swansea. I don't think he'll ever be good enough for a top 6 team and wouldn't surprise me if he left)

Veljkovic (never played a minute in PL and about 3 starts anywhere in career, might not be ready or even if CM is his best position)

Dunno about you but that looks very threadbare to compete in PL, EL and cups. It's not about being no worse than last year we need to improve in what is an absolutely crucial area of the pitch. If Dembele is not trusted at CM and Ali is going to be eased in I think we actually need two new CMs this summer.

Onomah, winks.

We will be the youngest team ever to win the league. Pochies babes.

aside from those who will never warm to Mason (essentially people who don't understand football and didn't rate Carrick), reckon Mason will surprise those unconvinced next season. First season in the prem last year and got better as the season went on. He will kick on next year I'm sure. If we can sign a player like Schneiderlin, great, but if it's another Capoue, Stambouli signing, I's rather we have Mason and Bentaleb another season to learn and grow.

The Suarez purchase strikes me as smart business, some extra steel when we are up against bigger sides seems a smart move but I really don't want us signing someone only slightly better/the same as what we have as we should be developing or youngsters.

I think it's almost certain we'll bring in another DM - likely a wise head depending on availability - If we miss out on MS and Suarez I'm not sure who that wise head would be but as you have said we are missing that experienced real quality player.

Above players will do a job though. I expect it to be Bentaleb and Alli who look the liveliest in Pre Season. I can't see Carroll making it with us but hope he proves us wrong. Mason will kick on, Dembele we all know has world class ability in him but whether he ever finds his game is another matter. Veljkovic i think will be a fine player too but probably a season too soon for him.

I don't particularly rate Mason BUT did rate Carrick highly - how do I fit into your insulting categorisation?;)

But I agree about Suarez.
