Bentaleb wanted to leave - so now he trains with the under-21s

He could continue to train with us just for fitness and technical skill, I am sure he would benefit more from first team training than reserve training. He hasn't said Yedlin is not part of his plans to the best of my knowledge but I can't see Yedlin having a future with us at all.
If he trains with the first team - it takes up coaching resources, and time away from players who will be on the team. As for Yedlin - he has nto said he wants to leave, and its likely he does, but not definite. Bentaleb has apparently said he wants to leave - and therein lies the difference. Its time to move on for all parties.

We're doing the bare minimum for someone who has asked to leave. He is maintaining his fitness but why should we do anything more? Why should we help him improve with the only benefit for our competition? He shouldn't be near the first team if not for the fact he's not part of the plans, but not to reveal anything new Poch has up his sleeve.

Well, that was pretty garbled, but what is clear is MP wants him out, and Bentaleb will not want to be stuck in the reserves.
MP's stock is still high, so I guess we'll put this down to the fact it does not always work out. But this was once an excellent player with loads of potential.

He is an asset, the more we can get for him the better, his value may go down the longer we fail to sell him. In life you never know, we may want to buy him back one day. It's in our best interests to be professional.

We are being professional. We're not denying him access or stopping him training and his value is set now. It's not going to go up because he trains with the first team.

The question that needs to be asked is why he is no longer part of Poch's plans, by which I mean why he wanted to leave.

It's a strange one, was going to be a challenge for Nabil to get back in the first team but has he asked to leave because of not being in Pochs plans or because he doesn't see a way into the side.

Don't see many rumours of offers coming in at the moment for him

Personally think this is really solid management if a player is effectively already gone

Get on the bus, or don't. No hard feelings but everyone involved in pushing Spurs forward needs to be a positive influence and giving 100%

If you want away - not just a little think but genuinely want out - there's no way you can be and you risk disrupting others.

whilst i know he has no future under poch i still hope he only leaves on loan. you never know what's around the corner, maybe the team takes a turn for the worse and poch gets sacked, or maybe we do so well that barca or whoever poach him. losing a player as talented as nabil permanently would be a great shame.

He most likely thinks he's better than Dembele, and Poch doesn't. I know who I'd rather have. I also think Winks has a better all round game.

Amatuer psychology strikes again, almost amazed how people have details into his mindset yet through the power of kicking a football around the pitch.

Rumor that Schaulk has offered 10mill for Bentaleb, take the money and run Mr Levy.

Poch was praised for the exact opposite when he came here as he didnt freeze anyone out

It didnt take up resources to have Adebayor train with the first team. To say it does is just a load of bollocks as we let lennon, Ade and Kaboul train with the first team despite clearly being disruptive in the squad.

Bentaleb says he wants to move on. Its time to let him go. There is nothing to be gained from having him train with the 1st team. He has no future here. Whether or not that same situation applied to other players has no bearing on Bentaleb's situation....

well a 19/20 yr old bentaleb was rightly keeping dembele out of the side so there's no reason he shouldn't think that. we still only know the latter half of the story though, i'd like to know why he asked to leave before making any judgements. as for winks, well i've watched him a lot and think he can go on to be a decent player but not nabil's level, hopefully he proves me wrong but that would require him getting a chance first, something that's not looking like happening anytime soon.

We forced other players out yet they were allowed to train with the first team. Adebayor was clearly not in poch's plans or Lennon or Kaboul yet they didnt get the same treatment. It is pretty much the same situation.

There was nothing to be gained from lennon and kaboul training with the first team. The reason said for not letting them train with the U21 was because they didnt want the youth players to be training players who dont have a good attitude and sour their development. Clearly the same isn't happening again.

Bentaleb kept Dembele out when Moussa was carrying a hip injury. Once that got sorted Bentaleb couldn't get a look in. I also think Winks has a much better all round game than Bentaleb.

i think that's rewriting history a little bit. once it "got sorted" (kind of convenient that it was only an issue when nabil was keeping him out of the side) bentaleb was still in the team, he just played his way out of it with a couple of crap performances(happens to all players) and then got injured. he came back, went away with algeria and got injured again, that's where his relationship with poch seemed to go downhill and as a result has rarely been seen since. if he's a pain behind the scenes then i support the decision to get rid but if it's something that could be easily rectified then i think we're making a big mistake letting such a talented and young player leave.

Then either Pochetinho is a bad judge of a players potential, lets his feelings get in the way or Benteleb is overrated.
Overated by some of our fans I say.
