The last report I read suggested he was on £8k a week.

As a first team player he should get a larger contract, it's all about getting the right balance.

Yes he deserves a pay rise, and I am sure there is one being negotiated but this kind of media bullshit is unprofessional and amaturish. I don't blame the agent he will only be acting on the wishes of his client, or he should be. I am a big fan of Bentaleb and want his at the club but if he condones the behaviour of his agent he has went down a little in my mind. Look at Kane, massive season from him, conducted his contract talks like a true pro when his head could very easily be up his arse.

I have no doubt that he will be offered what the club feel is right, but we simply cannot buckle to the demands of greedy agents/players. A clubs salary scale must be a very difficult thing to tackle. If we pay over the scale other players in his bracket will be demanding more, think Rose etc.

But this isn't like Sterlling's case at all. Sterling wants to leave Liverpool and people are equating that to being greedy. Strerling generally may feel he has a better chance of winning trophies eleswhere or he could want back to London plus if we was that greedy he'd of signed livepool's contract but he hasn't and therefore is losing money at the moment.

Benteleb is still on development money and to be fair deserve a pay rise

how do you know its different ?

I am not saying he does not deserve a pay rise I just think it should be conducted in house not in the media. Sterling is acting like a spoilt brat, he is 20 years old and on more money than we can ever dream of, Liverpool have looked after him and put him on the world stage. if he wants to leave for a bigger club fair enough, I don't think Liverpool have conducted themselves well in the press either they should also keep it in house.

Kane money less 10k per week sounds more than fair to me. A bit worrying that his agent is happy to play the game in public.... seriously lacking class

Guess he sees his young teammates Kane, eriksen, lamela and even Townsend after early last season on much money and thinks what the hell!
Understandable but they've all been knocking around a bit longer , he should be patient and tell his agent to calm himself

Explain to me how Sterling is behaving spoilt brat? Remember he was bought from QPR for peanuts and will obviously go for substantial amount of money , it's not like he's never moved from a club before...imo Liverpool have tried to bully him into signing that contract with all the ex players making comments.

if he wants 100k-130 k a week I think that is being a bit of a twat, Liverpool have offered him a great platform I just think although they have handled it badly in the media they would be a good place for him to be for a few years. Lets be honest if he goes to City he could ruin him atm Liverpool play to his strengths and he one of there star players.

I do agree Liverpool have been dumb and handled it badly.

I hear want your saying however I don't think it's to do with money tbh, I reckon Liverpool are pushing that line out to save face.
I generally believe Sterling wants a move to a better performing club or a move back to London.

Is Milner greedy?

Agent story... Far too many agents doing far too much shit stirring, someone needs to go wild with an anti agent stick.

If it was up to the agents how much their client should be paid then he might ha e a point, however I'm assuming he's not a football coach in his spare time. Would he take any notice if a coach started telling him how to go about marketing his client? No, and rightly he shouldn't.

This sort of statement is blatant and shameless self interest, trying to bump the amount he gets a percentage of.

Re; possibly but I think Milner is in a situation where its his last good payday, his won the league twice and has had a good career he spent time at Leeds and Villa before he moved for big money to city I think Sterling is still very young, and so many young players ruin there careers by to much money and poor choices. I hate Liverpool and don't like Rodgers as he mouths on in the press about players, I do think they have handled the situation badly as well.

When Nabil looks around at the team, the bench, and those that can't make the bench, and sees Lamela, Capoue, Paulinho, Soldado, Adebayor, Chiriches, Dembele.....well you do start to have sympathy with him. THFC needs to sort out its priorities and quick.

He will naturally end up signing for Spurs. He has no better options atm. He might have some sort of options, but nothing better. In which other club will he be a regular starter for a team equivalent of sub-top PL standard?

Can people saying that he should get near what Kane is on take a reality check. At the moment Kane is our only star player. He is generating huge interest in Spurs, our sponsors and merchandising will reflect that and so should Kanes wages.

Levy will offer Bentaleb a fair wage (same as he has done for Mason/Kane/Townsend/Rose) to match his new status. Just because a flop had negotiated a better deal and is no longer worth it doesn't mean that Bentaleb deserves the same. He has only one season of top flight football under his belt.
We do not know what has been offered as they do not meet until next week. So we can't make a judgement on whether it's good or not.

His agent going to the press and shouting doesn't help anyone.

lol I really do feel sorry for the man, he was clubless then we took him on and now at 20-21 he drives a lovely Porche, he will soon get paid in a week more than most make in a year I really feel sorry for him.

dont get me wrong I do like the lad he works hard and has done well I don't begrudge him a new contract I just want it done and dusted not in the media. I really don't like agents/media stirring shit up it makes the club and player look bad lol

I'm not worried at all. For all his faults Levy usually rewards young players who have done well by giving them improved contracts.

Don't know how, but the soon to be re-constructed FIFA need to do something to control the agents of footballers.
