Berbatov would not be missed at spurs in the slightest. In fact I would be well happy if he left and we used the money to strengthen other pressing areas such as the goal keeper and defence.

Robinson got Jol the sack in the end.

if we sell berbatov were sending out the signal that any player that wants to leave just has to sulk and play crap and we will let them go, berbatov owes us and if he wants to go to a bigger club he needs to start trying for one, im pretty sure fergie will be put off by berbs antics.

well id certainly miss Berba. Best out and out centre forward at Spurs since Jurgen. So much BS will be coming out of Spurs over the coming days. If Ramos comes in on Monday lets just re evaluate players futures come January. I hope the revolving door isnt opened at the lane again, i really dont think that will help us

I don't think Jol's departure will make any difference. Berbatov will be off anyway if we finish in mid-table or below. And rightly so: he made his show of loyalty and firmly kept Man U out of the frame last Summer, but it was based on being at a club that was challenging for the top.

If we're going backwards instead, he'll be well within his rights to look elsewhere. He has a career to run and he's not 18 anymore.

Im telling you now ferguson would of looked at the sulking lanky streak of piss on monday night and thought no thanks, he wont have players that think they are better than any club and im afraid since pre season this season that is exactly what berbatov thinks he has become. Good player but not a welcome person in this state of affairs, when i spoke to harry redknapp last week he summed him up....'good player but you wouldnt want him next to you in the trenches would you' i couldnt help but agree... he is a big time c##t.

Seriously, sorry but if this story is true then Berby can piss off, why would you want players like that in your side anyway, there's 11 players in the team not just him. Fine sell Berby for £25 million to United or Milan and let Ramos bring in some hard working players that will help this club climb back up the table.

I'm Glad it's Ramos thats coming in, at least now we can get rid of some of these pre madonna's and to be honest average players, by that I mean, Zokora, Jenas, Rocha, Gardner, Ekotto, Tainio, Huddlestone etc, basically the whole midfield needs changing. Hay Ramos might even buy a left footed left midfielder at last.

Don't you mean comolli might buy a left footed left midfielder? Jol knew we needed a natural left winger for years but our sporting directors have never addressed the problem.

Berbs needs to get his act together, because if he does want to leave his current attitude and level of performance will have been noted by other clubs who may now think he's not for them.

I don't believe this. Berbs wants success - that is all. We all want that, and Levy has taken a brave decision to let Jol/Hughton/Segers leave. Now we will have a new management in place soon.

levy - brave - you are clearly demented - levy engineered jol going - hughton - segers are clearly not up to the job - and should have been sacked ages ago

Berbatov has shown his true colours IMO. I can see why the bigger clubs didn't/havent gamble on him in the past. Even Stoitchov questioned his Berbatovs desire for his own national team....Berbatov is a big time Charlie and Harry Redknapp is right in what he said in his column.

I've questioned Robbie Keane in the past but you really have to admire the fighting spirit of Keane, he in all honesty has been fighting for Spurs with his displays..

The reality is that Berbatov will not stay if we do not pick things up. Let's face it, that's only fair! If you were in his position, capable of his brilliance and wanting to earn big, challenge big and just generally be part of a 'winning team' then you would leave too.

I'm sure he's not the only player thinking "shit, Martin's going and now I want to as well" - maybe even some fans were of that mentality!

Berbatov won't go if we're flying, I'd put money on that, but he won't be the only to go if we're not!

It'd be good to hear from a couple of the players after the Blackburn game!

As others have said though, Berbatov's attitude against Newcastle was disgusting. Keano has shown true character and to be fair to him, even Defoe and kept his head down!

Brave isn't the word I would use with Levy right now. Idiot is one I would. When you are hours away from a must win game kicking off you don't fire your manager.

Until Levy and his fellow directors come clean to the fans I won't trust any of them. They have to explain:

 • why Jol was treated so badly?
 • why allow him to spend so much money if he wasn't the right person?
 • why seek a new manager so early into the season?
 • why deny any link with Ramos and give Jol public support when really you wanted Ramos the whole time?
Levy and his directors have made this club a laughing stock and shamed the name of this great old club.

Also Levy should lift the ban on the Evening Standard because the criticism Matthew Norman wrote now seems fair.

I think DL knew that if he got rid of Jol there would be the possibilty of berba going aswell. This i dont think he thought would be to much of a problem as we have keano, bent and defoe. Even if berba hasn't given his all and his attitude hasn't been right he will still command more money that what we paid for bent. With this in mind DL will be rubbing his filthy little mitts together as he runs the club like a business and it will be a huge profit nevertheless.

If Hughton and Segers weren't up to the job, Jol should have insisted they be replaced. Jol takes responsibility for all the coaching and this is clearly where he has failed.

He had to go and I'm delighted that we have Ramos in his place. It is only a pity that Levy didn't sack Jol three months ago.

Speak for youself, this is a totally ridiculous thing to say. It's players like him that we need if we are to seriously move forward. His finesse is something that we haven't had for decades! His effect on our attack is undeniably revolutionary and it would be a terrible shame to see him go and I for one hope that we do make top 5 just to be able to keep him around (If this is in fact the minimum that he wants in order to stay.) If his minimum is CL football, well then all the best Berbatov.

no, we don't need him. he's cr*p and has always been. that Ballon d'or thingy is fabricated by the media, pure conspiration against spurs. his 25 goals, 20+ assists so far are a fantasy, and he's nowhere near our only player who may be called world class.

at the end of this season he'll have 2 years left on his contract. he'll be 27 having won nothing in his career. he'll just have to sign a contract or leave. not sure what kind of success this year would make him dedicate his best years to spurs.

Point one. Grow up Teemu, Jol is a premiership manager and more to the point a grown man. Last time I did a job I didn't like, I quit. Martin says he comes from a family of Marines, do you think they'd come home after a days training complaining the Sergeant Major had been too hard on them. The board handled it poorly but they didn't act terribly. They had doubts about Jol's ability (doubts you apparently share) and ambitions to reach the top four (ambitions which you don't share) and so they looked to see if they could get a world class manager instead of the average manager you agree he is.

Point two, they didn't allow him to spend so much money, as you know it's the club which has a transfer policy and the coach only plays one part in it.

Point three, is the same as point one.

Point four, because when you're dealing with a feral media honesty is not always the best policy.

Point five. You're dead right about your village.
