Excellent news this, hopefully he will pick up his game and score a few tonight with that kind of boost.

Can't see him winning it though but that is great for his moral.

official site.

Dimitar Berbatov has been named on the preliminary 50-man shortlist for the prestigious Ballon d’Or.
Berbatov is the first Tottenham Hotspur player to be included as a candidate for the accolade awarded by France Football magazine since David Ginola in 1999.

The award is voted for by journalists from each member country of UEFA, with France Football taking the decision this year to expand eligibility for the Ballon d’Or to players from every league in the world, having previously only considered those plying their trade in Europe.

The Bulgarian forward impressed in his debut campaign for the Club last year with 23 goals in all competitions, which earned him a place in the PFA Team of the Season.

Its always nice to see his performances from last year recognised, i just hope he rediscovers that form this season before he leaves because i'd hate for him to be remembered as a one season wonder for us, he is far better than that.

I would expect him to try for a hatrick at the very least on the back of that nomination
