Well, he's not officially sacked by the club yet ...but I doubt he'll stay much longer at Kerala Blasters...

Dimitar Berbatov calls manager David James 'the worst wannabe coach ever'

Berbatov slammed the ex-England goalkeeper for his tactical ineptitude – the day before James was handed a new contract until 2021

James replaced Rene Meulensteen as manager of ISL side Kerala Blasters in January, and one of his tasks was to carefully manage marquee player Berbatov – but that doesn't seem to have worked out very well.

Kerala were knocked out of the ISL play-offs last week after a 2-0 defeat to Bengaluru with Berbatov out injured.

But that didn't stop the 37-year-old forward from venting his frustration towards the former Liverpool, Portsmouth and West Ham goalkeeper. He posted the following picture to his Instagram story on Saturday...

A strong – albeit clunky – use of hashtags from the Bulgarian, we think you'll agree.

It's unlikely that Berba will play any part in their upcoming Indian Super Cup matches, though, as he seemingly looks set for pastures new.

Just to make Berbatov even more annoyed, Kerala announced on Sunday that James had signed a new long-term contract to remain as manager of the club. Let the James begin... (they're not even sorry).

He was a twat when he left us. He was a twat when he moaned about not enough starts at United. He was a twat at Fulham. I don't get why he was welcomed back with open arms at The Lane Finale. For me he was a cretin who disrespected the club and fans and has proven since that he is arrogant and over estimates his place in the game.

Newsflash Berba, you're not at the top anymore. If you want to keep playing, suck it up and earn your money. Otherwise, go do something else and prove how smart you are at something else. In other words, know your place.

Shows how far we’ve come as a club. We used to indulge personalities like him as if he was doing us a favour

Incredible player on his day, and still love his hug with Keane at Wembley, but has never played for a club he didn’t think he was bigger than

Understand why he was at The Finale tho. In a trophy room light on modern silverware, he made a huge impact on the last time we won some

Didn't Boba Fett have a Kerala Blaster?

Anyway, who actually thinks David James would have any tactical knowledge whatsoever? I love Berba and he can do no wrong, if he signed for us tomorrow i'd be delighted.

Totally agree with the sentiments, but when he had his head in the game, which he did a lot to be fair, he was a top quality player for us. A genuine match winner.

His attitude sucks but he deserved the crowd cheering him at WHL.

Great for us and got a good fee. Albeit with some sulking along the way.

I remember Berbs was always mad at Dawson for his massive hoofball, same with Robbos. He liked good football, even Keane and Defoe would complain if it weren't hit right. I didn't see it as a bad thing, new ideas and keeping the ball. He always had a plan in his head but wasn't amused if players weren't on the same wavelength

David James has probably followed Stuart Pearces level of managing at Man City. That was pretty dreadful

Levy would probably hire him as a boot cleaner and tea maker. But you just know Berbs would bring you a stone cold cuppa, because he couldn't be arsed to boil the kettle. He'd also return you the wrong boots too, probably some Golas from 1987 caked in fucking mud, but somehow demand a payrise

But he would do it with such style that man utd would come and offer him a huge payrise

Love Berbs.Always did, always will. Some of the things he did on the pitch were a joy to behold.I can forgive the way he went about getting a move, as he wasn’t the first and wont be the last.
Just loved seeing him in a Spurs shirt

I have to say I disagree. I am with you on the quality of his play, but he has behaved in an unprofessional way tbroughout his career and should be judged on his conduct both on and off the field.
