What has happened to the baby faced assasin this season ? . He remains one of the most graceful skillful accomplished players I have seen play football, yet my heroe of last season has become my figure of frustration this term.

I have been to a few games home and away since August and I have studied and analysed his performances during the matches , and have come away feeling cheated .
It sickens me to think it , but I sense the Berbmeister is going through the motions biding his time with spurs.
Dimitar is a player who can kill a ball in an instant , pluck a ball out of the air with the ball never moving from his foot, control a pass from any angle , find space in a seemingly crowded penalty area, and the most fantastic part of his game , FIND THE TARGET FROM ANY POSITION. This man is lethal in front of goal he can score goals for fun, yet surprisingly he has scored so few goals (2 in the PL) in our team that has scored more goals than most this season . Yes I hope that this will change and it could be coincidence that he has not found the back of the net so often this season, but when I,ve seen him it seems to me that he doesn,t want to ! HOW CRAZY IS THAT !. This season I,ve seen shots sliced off the side of his foot, shots blazed over the bar , headers wide of the target , Please dont tell me he is lacking confidence, this man ooozes confidence !. Yes his attitude and performances have stepped up since MJols departure, but does he look like he is ever going to score at the moment ?. He seems to be doing lots of work around the penalty area but not in the box where we want him. Against Aaalborg for his goal he seemed reluctant to take the oppportunity to score , in fact for a moment I thought he was going to pass the chance by. Berbatov prove me wrong , score in any of the PLeague games between now and January cos I know you can, unless you really are putting in the performance of your life. For spurs and my sake I hope not.:bang:

If I read you correctly, you are insinuting that Berbatov is intentionally not scoring goals?

As interesting as your post is to read, I find it incredible that you think that, more so to suggest it in a post. In my book, if true, that would be tantamount to match fixing!

He does seem to be going through the motions a bit. I think he is willing to do his part, but I would love to see him get in the box a lot more, especially with Lennon hitting some form on the right and Bale, if his injury isnt too bad, providing excellent quality from the left.

I would love to see him attack that box again, and start scoring. Hopefully he will kick into gear tomorrow

Change Dimitar for Fredi, and you could have a description of Fredi Kanoute. And yet many people on these messageboards have forgotten how intensely frustrating Kanoute was at Spurs. We knew he was a player with all the ability in the world. And we also knew we saw that ability only in flashes in a Spurs shirt. Jol finally decided he couldn't motivate Kanoute or build a team that played to his strengths, so he put him on the transfer list. And a certain Spanish coach, one Juande Ramos, personally told his DoF at Sevilla that he wanted to sign Kanoute.
http://www.worldsoccer.com/interviews/sevilla_coach_juande_ramos_interview_107105.html

At Sevilla, Kanoute suddenly started playing the best and most consistent football of his career, nearly ending up as top scorer in La Liga. Week in and week out, Sevilla fans saw the Fredi Kanoute Spurs fans could only dream of. And a lot of that has to go down to the man who's now our coach, Juande Ramos.

He seems to be doing lots of work around the penalty area but not in the box where we want him. Against Aaalborg for his goal he seemed reluctant to take the oppportunity to score , in fact for a moment I thought he was going to pass the chance by. Yes. And the reason Berba is doing lots more work outside the box is because Ramos has been using him in a deeper position, often in the hole, behind a pacier striker like Bent. When he plays as an out-and-out striker, you can see Berba's body language getting more and more sulky as he receives truly poor service from our midfield.

At Sevilla, Ramos played Kanoute as the deeper of two strikers so he could link the play and then get on the end of crosses. I believe he'll do the same with Berba at Spurs. Dimitar Berbatov is the best attacking player at the club. And, judging by what he did with Kanoute, I think Juande Ramos is the coach to get the most out of Berba - week in, week out.

But it will take time... Viva la revolucion!!!!!

Unfortunately I fear the writing is already on the wall. For me Levy said it all when he failed to confirm that Berba wouldn’t be going anywhere come January, opting instead to say “he would be surprised if any spurs players left in the transfer window” gutless prick…!!

Something serious must have happened at some stage because he just looks soul-less out there at the moment.

It’s a hard thing to take as many would give their all in the lilywhite shirt but clearly the Berba doesn’t feel that way and that hurts…

:cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry:

and one more i think

Yeah, I am fairly concerned with his performances. Considering he was the 2nd highest goal scorer of the Premier League last season, just under Drogba, he has failed to replicate his superb standard.
And as for him staying? Quite simply, nothing is in the bag with Berba with regard to post January.

I think he is too unlucky this season. maybe 20 times hit the post or his shots were kicked out by defenders.

I think you make your own luck in this world. Besides that’s not the issue for me. I couldn’t give a shit how many times he hits the post, smashes it wide or even balloons it over the bar, all I care about is his attitude and at present he looks as though he couldn’t give a shit…

But that is at least in part because he's a sulky East European. And I speak as an Anglo-Pole, so I know all about sulky East Europeans...

Just as I know all about the body language of Stuart "Psycho" Pearce, which seems to be what many British fans expect of non-British players.

Fredi Kanoute still often has the same "I'm really not bothered" body language at Sevilla that he had at Spurs. But he's banging the goals in - left, right and centre.

As per my post above, at Sevilla, Ramos worked a miracle with Kanoute, getting Fredi playing to his potential week in, week out. Let's give our new coach a chance to see if he can work the same magic with the even more talented Berbatov. If Berba starts banging them in again, I don't give a flying **** about his body language...

Berba is a product of a VERY sick group of players at WHL. They are clueless (in defence), for the most part, and if Ledley does not 'hit the ground running' we could be in for a 'winter of discontent'. My head is sore from the rubbish being 'heaped' upon us by certain 'so called' Yid's COYS

d. And we also knew we saw that ability only in flashes in a Spurs shirt. Jol finally decided he couldn't motivate Kanoute or build a team that played to his strengths, so he put him on the transfer list.!

IIRC... Kanoute was transfer listed after, he, Mido and Atouba (or was it Pamerot? infact i can't remember) broke club rules my refusing to take part in a pre-season match (or something along those lines)...

They were all punished by the club, Mido and the other player apologized to Jol and paid a fine... Kanoute reacted poorly to the punishment, and i believe refused to apologize... thus he was shipped off...

nothing to do with his playing ability (tho i'm sure if he was scoring 20+ a season, a fall out with the management wouldn't of got him shipped out at a cut price ;-))

The other player was Ziegler. But it has no bearing on my argument.

There are a lot of people on these messageboards who want Kanoute back in January. I think Kanoute is a fantastically talented player. But Fredi was NOT consistently productive at Spurs, and both Pleat and Jol lost confidence in him. In Jol's case, that's why he bought the more physical but less talented Mido as competition.

My point is that Ramos personally insisted on signing Kanoute for Sevilla (see the link in my first post above), AND turned him into one of La Liga's most admired strikers. And I have no doubt our £90k-a-week coach will be trying to work the same magic on the equally "moody" Berba.

Maybe he is thinking

Bollox; get
Away, from
Fucking
Tottenham
Arsehole
Season

...........and quick smart too!

Loved him last season. Single handedly took the piss out of Bolton at home when we were down to 10 men. THE best individual performance i have ever seen. This year he has been lucklustre and disinterested and he may as well go if that is the case.

Mind you Jol said to him at the end of last season that all he has to do is start playing before xmas to be truly great. Maybe he knew something.

Totally agree. Berbs had the same body language all last season anyway.

I think his performances of late (since he said he was prepared to stay at spurs) have actually been quite good, Although he hasn't scored much he has had 6 assists (that's not bad!!) and has been creating a lot of chances for himself and other players.

I would like to say that the fans who think he has been "lazy" for spurs of late, he was just as "lazy" last season and he was like this when he played in Germany, you can still see his class. and has been in a lot deeper role this season, (resulting in less goals) I for one am not worried about Berbatov, and didn't think he will leave because I trust his word, and if he said he would stay for at least till the end of this season (like he did) I trust his word.

In Berby I Trust!!
