Could be a good move for him and us. He looked very promising but has struggled to get playing time at Shakhtar and it's easy to argue he might find the same problem with us, but he looks a very creative player and one that can interchange with others. I honestly don't think we have any real left winger bar Townsend, Siggy is no winger and Chadli is more I guess an attacker than a winger. I could imagine Lamela on the right and Bernard on the left a very decent couple of creative players to give Bobby Soldado some decent service and to give us different attacking options to Lennon, Townsend and Eriksen. It would be a very good mix and give us lots of attacking options
The only thing I would want us to have would be an agreed option price to take him in summer

Would rather get Lamela settled, don't get me wrong I love Bernard but Shakhtar is the best place for his development.

simple....if we was to sell holtby, sig and capoue and sign bernard (loan or permanent) it coupld mean we could line up as the below...

-------------------LLoris
Walker---Verts------Vlad----Rose
----------Paulinho---Sandro-----
--Eriksen------------------Bernard--
----------Lamela-------------------
---------------------Soldado-------

with Ade, Dembele, Townsend, Lennon, Bentelab Kaboul (and brad f) all on the bench

and have this team by saving money on wages (compared to what we currently pay. not bad and may be attractive to the board

Dont mean to diss your team, but Ade, Lennon and Townsend will be 3 of the first players on the teamsheet.

For me, not on loan unless there is a prearranged fee to sign him at the end of it if we want him

I don't understand this logic. What if he comes in, scores vital goals and we get CL. What difference does it make if we can't sign him permanently after that?

yes, lets add yet another attacking midfielder when there already isn't nearly enough time for who they have already instead of another striker or back they desperately need

Because I think longer term than the end of this season.
We should not be loaning players anyway and if we must use the loan market for some unfathomable reason then we should use it as a 'try before you buy' market.

Besides, if he did come in and score three or four vital goals then you'd want to keep him and without a prearranged fee then his price would have been raised substantially because of the increased demand.

Would love Bernard at the club, but not whilst Tim is in charge. If we ever decided to move back to 4231 you could do a lot worse then Bernard left, Erikson middle and Lamela right but as Tim is playing 442 with a vengeance Bernard would ether be bench fodder or keep Eriksen or Lamela out of the team.
