I take it that this is a team that will/would play under Ramos? If not what is the point?

Anyway, he would NEVER play in that formation.

It would be,

Robbo

Chimbo--------The King--------Kaboul/Rocha--------Lee

Lennon/Taraabt----Prince/Jenas----Zokora/Tainio---Bale

Berbo------Bent/Keano

----------------Robbo

Chimbonda King Kaboul Lee

--------------Zokora

Lennon -------------- Bale

-----------Malbranque

--------Berbatov Keane

I Think Bale has done great on the left wing and although he would be more natural at left back, Lee has done well this season, unlike the rest of them at the back and so it makes sense to stick with this. I Like salty but i think he is just a cover player and Chimbo needs to be given a chance to make up for error, and he is likely to work best with Ramos style of play. As Does Zokora.

Would love to see Malbranque in his natural position. Though i think he is inconsistant and its a position that needs strenghening. hopefully by taraabt next season after another year of learning the game. (or Maybe even Boateng)

I'm Not even gonna talk about the big two up from, they are just class when in form.

Ramos has stated that he wants to play attacking football with pace and i think the 11 i would pick would give that
robbo ain't that shit, he just lacks confidence at the moment. a solid defence in front of him would help.
King - enough said
Tony G - always slated and under valued but has just been very unlucky with injuries. Cast your minds back a few years when Ledley and Tony were the mutts nuts
Chimbo - great at getting forward needs to rediscover his defensive side
Kaboul - Big, Very strong, pacy could be a great holding midfielder
Jenas - Needs better midfielders along side him to really shine
Malbranque - Centre Midfielder is his position not out on the wings
Lennon - Free roll behind the front 2
DB and Keano up front
Nuff said
Boateng and Taarabt to be developed
This team has ample pace and skill and with Ramos guiding them I think this team would achieve a lot
If, and it's a big if, better players are available in January then fine, lets get them but history shows that January is a poor time for transfers.Nobody lets the quality go in January
However there is plenty of dross out there looking for a pay packet
Lets not forget that not too long ago we praised this squad and let our delusions of grandeur get the better of us
Bale - Legend to be

Yeah I'd go along with this. Dawson is a much better player when he has King beside him. Chimbonda must learn to defend again but he's the best that we've got in that position. Left hand side takes care of itself, Bale - what a prospect. And Malbranque in his natural position, I'd rate him higher than Jenas. Front two, sorted!!!

Personally i'd go

...........................Robbo

Chimonda........Dawson.....King........Lee

Lennon.........Kaboul.....Boetang.....Bale

.................Berbie......Keane

I know we haven't seen much of Boetang but I watch a lot of German football and he was outstanding last year, really physical attacking midfielder. If not replace him with Jenas, I don't know why but I still think he could come good.

Anyone else think it is slightly worrying that so many people have picked our best central midfield pairing as Kaboul and Malbranque when neither of them have played there all season and don't look likely to. Kaboul is a centre back, he doesn't have the passing ability to be a decent enough midfielder. He just needs to learn some discipline as a centre back. Malbranque is never going to be strong enough for a central midfielder if we are playing two wingers, he tracks back when on the wing, but I very much doubt he would cover enough ground in the centre to be able to defend properly and be in a position where he is most effective (just outside the penalty area). A midfield of Kaboul and Malbs is up there with the worst in the league, hardly a surprise we are in the bottom 3 if that is the best we can manage.

I'm gonna go with:

..................Robbo....................

Chimbs...King.....Dawson.......Lee

Lennon....Jenas...Zokora.....Bale

............Berbatov..Keane..........

In the style Ramos will play we need central midfielders who can run all day. If Jenas and Zoko are just given the job to close down the ball every time it gets in the centre of the pitch and are aggressive they could be a good partnership. They just need direction and definitive roles in the team.

I would change Kaboul for Tainio and that would be a decent team for now. Also if Ramos likes attacking wide players, hopefully we'll see a development of (an injury free) Ekotto.

Perhaps because he is about 21 and has only played one match for us. I think it is disgusting that any 'fan' would try to write him off. Until he has had enough chances to disappoint as Huddlestone I don't think we should be trying to judge him at all.

And I'm gonna totally agree with you. And I think if people are honest, that's quite obviously our best 11 (Kaboul for Dawson being the only close call).
