John White , just ahead of Jimmy Greaves.

It's been asked before and we both agreed on John White. Danny Blanchflower would be my other choice but there have been so many great Spurs players that it's not easy to choose the absolute best. Jimmy Greaves is up there near the top too - what a wonderful all-round sportsman he was, much more than a fantastic goal-scorer, and Dave Mackay, not just a hard man but an incredibly skilled footballer which is often overlooked.

Just missed out on seeing Hoddle live. (started watching in 89)

So I would have to say Gazza and Klinsmann.

Ginola for me!

He was everything that a tottenham player should be; skillful, classy, good looking, and inconsistent! But at that time he was what made spurs worth watching.

He loved spurs as well!

Klinsmann was also pretty special and probably the best striker in the world the first time he came to us. He had everything. I remember one of those old fashioned defenders saying that not long after he came to spurs he played against him in an away game and thought he would be a push over on a cold midweek night. But he said that Jurgen could mix it with the best and was as brave as a lion. Literally gave everything when he played.

As much as we all like to moan, we have had some truly great players at spurs.

Mackay. The complete footballer. I may take that back in a few years if Sandro sticks around and achieves his potential.

Bits of Edgar Davids were decent too. Never thought we'd see him in a spurs shirt. Still get tingles when I see Klinsmann as well. Berbatov could take your breath away as does Luka the little so and so.

I just love watching VDV finish. But for me, the best I have seen is Ginola. Just magic. Although, I have been lucky to see some phenomenal players such as Gazza, Waddle, Lineker, Klinsmann, Sheringham, Berbatov, Modric, Bale, King etc

King, Waddle, Ginola, Berbatov and Rafa.

If forced to choose just one - Waddle.

Just missed out seeing Hoddle play for us.

Jennings
Walker
King
Scum
Bale
Waddle
Modric
Hoddle
Ginola
Klinsmann
Berbatov
Are you old enough to have seen Jennings play? (I kind of doubt it because I normally expect people of that age to pick the likes of Greaves or Mackay ahead of the likes of Berbatov and Modric)

Just asking, seeing as this thread was about players you have seen (although I guess that could include archive footage)

A time line of my favourite players since I was old enough to know what's going on until I was too old to have a favourite player....

Waddle
Gazza
Lineker
Sheringham
Klinsmann
Ginola

(best players since that time Berbatov, Modric, Van Der Vaart, Bale and King)

No its from archive footage & jennings is easily the best goalkeeper weve ever had...the starting 11 was just my add on to the thread not the best players ive seen...did that earlier :)

hoddle by a thousand miles. what kind of player was he? think zidane.

you could stick a pin on the turf, then ask him to hit the pin from 40 yards out, n 9 times out of 10 he would hit it. he was that good.

hodddle by a thousand miles. YouTube him for those who never watched him.
