Ooh, only four hours to kick off so even this effort is late. So let's take a look at the runners and riders....

Team News

Us: No walking wounded from Wednesday so just long-term bedmates Bale and Ekotto. Even money says Ledley won't make it.

Them: No midweek game so not much to trouble them. Pamarot and Primus are out and a certain centre back is battling to be fit. Don't battle too hard, you 24-hour ban-earning ****. Muntari and Papa Diop are suspended while the complexities of Defoe's transfer deal mean he is ineligible.

Form/Runes

It's a distinctly mid-table 8 points from a possible 18 in the form guide, with a DLWLWD record nothing to boast about. At home it's DWDWWW with the two draws against Man U and Chelsea, so that's pretty good. We've scored 22 goals in those games, conceding 10. Only Man U and Sunderland have stopped us scoring four or more!

Portsmouth's last six record is WWLWWD overall, and their position this season has been bouyed by their amazing away form. That shows LWLLWL at the moment but they've earned half their 50 points away from Fratton Park and won 8 games on the road.

Pretty good record at WHL in the league, with 8 wins, 6 draws and only 3 losses. In the Premier League it's been four straight wins for us. More of the same, please.

Adjudication

It's Phil Dowdy gettin' rowdy today, but let's hope for a better outcome than his last visit in December when Birmingham won 3-2. He's only reffed 16 PL games this season so far, but still found time to hand out 51 yellow and 6 red cards - including one for Keano in that Birmingham match. If you have a moment, compare Robbie's challenge to Ashley Cole's on Hutton last Wednesday which only got a yellow card. That is the very definition of the term "inconsistent referring".

Predictions

Lawro: After a 4-4 against a side like Chelsea in what was a brilliant match, you might be tempted to think Tottenham would cruise to victory - but I think it will be quite tight. With Jermain Defoe ineligible to play against his old team, I think Harry Redknapp will play quite a defensive team but I'm tipping Spurs to edge it. Verdict: 1-0

This week's guest tipster was going to be TalkSport's Mike Parry, but unfortunately his arms are too short to reach the keyboard.

Stats & Facts

TOTTENHAM are averaging nearly three goals a game at home. But their opponents are averaging nearly
two.

At the end of every season PASCAL CHIMBONDA sells his boots and the left one has a tag marked
"unused".

PORTSMOUTH has taken over the mantle of "Tottenham Old Boys" from West Ham with JERMAIN DEFOE joining SEAN DAVIS, PEDRO MENDES, NOE PAMAROT and a certain centre back down by the seaside.

TOTTENHAM has scored NEARLY A HUNDRED GOALS in all competitions this season and not a single one has
come from the boot, head, arm or butt of DIDIER ZOKORA (apart from his penalty).

its the 2nd day of the season where I get either a load of gloating messages thrown my way from the locals or they ignore me until they have to! The latter please would be preferred.

iot was a good win down at Fratton Park earlier in the season, they are a strong athletic side but dont have the strength in depth to cope with too many players out.

Defoe has been getting their goals so with out him they may struggle.

Dont expect Jenas to start, hasnt made it passed half time the last two games.
Four more from Spurs please and a little tighter at the back will do nicely...
