This has been the subject of debate on here many times before, but watching Marseille get absolutely spanked by Liverpool this evening, I noticed something.

At the final whistle none of the home fans booed. Now Marseille were beyond awful tonight, they played far worse than spurs have in any game this season, yet none of their fans voiced their displeasure. All the more surprising given that French football fans have a rep for being especially fickle.

Are we that bad as far as fans go?

its because 3 quaters of the stadium was empty. so all the boos that could have been hurd were drowned out by the "aye aye calm down" and "yoooou wat??" of traveling scousers

So are the French better than us at supporting a losing team? What is "Booooo" in french?

You've missed out on their traditional delighted reaction to anything Cissé does. 'Allez les chèvres' ('Come on the goats') is their favourite chant.

Best Frog supporters gesture so far this season came at Metz a couple of weeks ago. Most of the home fans boycotted the game and hung a giant banner saying 'We're in the pub' along the top tier of one of the stands.

Why didn't we think of that during the Livermore, Ardiles, Francis, Gross, Graham, Hoddle and Santini eras?
