John Bostock has signed a contract extension with the Club until 2013 and joins Hull City on a season-long loan.

The England Under-19 international became the youngest player ever to represent the Club in a competitive fixture when he made his First Team debut against Dynamo Zagreb in the UEFA Cup in November 2008.

The former Crystal Palace midfielder scored two goals on his debut for Brentford and went on to make ten appearances during a loan spell at Griffin Park last season.

Why couldn't we have loaned him to Blackpool? If we want them to be premiership level players then that's where they should learn their trade, or is this so we can bring him back for closed door games?

    Good luck to him anyway.

If he can get 30 odd games with Hull next season it should be enough to toughen him up and prepare him for possible first team outings (for us) next season. These loan deals for our up and coming players can only be beneficial for the players and us. The likes of Bostock, Caulker, Parret, Kane and Townsend (and others) could save us millions in the coming seasons.

The Championship is the next logical step for his development. Hull City is a good club for him to be going to and they now have got a good manager in Nigel Pearson. The Championship is going to be very competitive this season again, it will be interesting to see how Bostock does.

I hope he does really well as when I've seen glimpses of him he's looked like a player who could have it all.
Very strong for someone so young and also unlike many of our youngsters from years back where they looked like a gust of wind would blow them off.

I read a webpage on team talk which was to do with this loan.

It also mentioned what John said about lack of opportunities for the English youngsters. Harry then was quoted as questioning his attitude.
(his dad then hit back at Harry etc...)

Someone then replied saying he hoped Harry wouldn't chase off another talented youngster.
This annoyed me but I couldn't be ar5ed to register there so I thought I'd mention it here.

At some point these youngsters need to step up.
The only person who can do that is themselves.
You do have to question his attitude when he can't even stay at Brentford as you'd think they would bite their hands off to have a talent like him play for them.
I hope he doesn't throw it all away, if he does he will only have one person to blame and its not Harry... its himself!

That said lets hope he really shines and is ready for the Prem next season.
Same feelings for any others that go out on loan. I think Steven Caulker is also linked with Leeds?!

Its the perfect league for him to develope, if he can hold his own in the championship then great, its physical, demanding and quick, if he can really stand out in that league then theres every chance he'l make a premiership player and the experience will be invaluable.

Why not the prem? He's come from a championship side so surely the next logical step before he attempts to get into the Spurs team, is the league we are in? Arsenal and Man u always loan to lower sides so why don't we?
  7. StokeSpur
He came from a championship side when he was 16 and hadnt had that much time in it, he's done little since execpt a bit of reserve and loan action which will no way bring him on and prepare him for the 1st team.

Its probably not all about his footballing ability, by all acounts his attitude is a bit questionable so Harry must feel that he has to go back to basics and prove himself, if he goes out, rolls his sleeves up, gets his head down and learns what hard work is it will be better than hanging around in the shaddows of a prem club. its doubtfull a Prem club would put him straight into their 1st team as it stands where as a championship side will, it would be pointless a prem team loaning him for the bench. maybe?

like the idea of letting the kid know that hes part of our future, IMO lt him have a full season rather than the prem, lift his confidence level's instead of getting hammerd 5-0 every week with blackpool!!! why the fcuk havnt palace come in for him woulod rather him have gone back there were he wouldnt have to up stick's from london and live in that dump of a city (no offence to yids from hull). come on john set this league alight

I dont think Palace are that keen on him, due to the manner in which he left.

Silly really, as i imagine they need as much quality as possible.........
