Spurs were out of the Champions League on match day 4 against PSV Eindhoven, they scored in the 89th minute to keep alive their faint CL hopes.

Spurs were out of the Champions League on match day 5 against Inter Milan, they scored in the 80th minute to keep alive their faint CL hopes.

Spurs were out of the Champions League on match day 6 by the virtue of Inter scoring in their match which meant Spurs were out, they scored in the 85th minute to qualify for the CL last 16.

Don't let anyone tell you we are fucking legends, trophy or no trophy, this team have mental strength and incredible resilience under Mauricio Pochettino which isn't synonymous with Tottenham's recent history.

Being a team that bottles stuff shouldn't be reserved for just merely winning trophies especially in this current climate where teams are spending ridiculous amounts of money just to stay in the top four, in any case we carry on like this and the trophies will come.

We are building something, COYS.

Agree with everything you’ve said.

Just wish the club would think of the supporters mental and physical health and do things the easy way for once.

Someone in the match thread (can't remember who) made a couple of comments during the game with this legends thing as the obvious agenda. Different strokes I suppose.

Yeah, the 'legends' tag is lazy and gets over-used

Most of the time it's applied to us when we suffer a loss against genuinely good opposition, whether it be in a cup game or over the course of a season where we're up against a team with much more £££ than us

If we were regularly losing against teams we should be beating, then we'd be 'legends'

But we don't do that and added to that we're pretty handy at getting a number of results under pressure, and against-the-odds every season

Final point; we haven't had a home advantage for 18 months now. That is huge and something a lot of rival fans have forgotten.

I mean by that metric we did completely bottle two games out of the six if you really want to dig into it but then again you can find stats to make any point you like. I'd say it balances out to make the term entirely meaningless.

Maybe... just maybe... if we stopped going on about it, others would? People only say it as it clearly winds up Spurs fans. As this thread is testament to

Meh.

"legends" is just an overused term now for anytime a team gets a loss or a draw at this point. It's becoming a more and more meaningless term by the day.

Great results. Just imagine if we could have played all the reverse fixtures at the Lane as well.

? Yeah I can definately see those same people logging onto Spurs Community to look for this thread as some sort of justification for using the term.

We’ve never been legends. It’s complete fantasy. You only need to check how many times we have come from behind under Poch to win games to show that. It’s why you can never write this group off.

Yes we have and for many years. Even under Poch early on. We're just not anymore. That's the big influence Poch has made on this team. He had to change that mentality that was deep to the core of the team.

Some people will still use the phrase legends any time we lose at the end. It's because we were once and they can't seem to let go of the fact that we're different now. Although it seems we rarely get called legends now anyway, instead we get "but they haven't won a trophy". Haters are always looking for something to use against us. When we win a trophy it will be "but that's just 1 trophy, they need to win the League or Champions League". If we win those it will be "but they need to win them over consecutive seasons". If we win trophies like Utd did under Fergie over a long period of time we may finally get the praise we deserve.

This team has really been through it all these past 3 Champions League group stages. The first time under Poch we had a group we felt was not too difficult and should top it. We didn't show up though and got knocked out. The second time around we had a tough group and were not so confident. The team rose to the occassion and topped the group. This third time around we had another tough group, we didn't show up at first and then showed the character to turn it around. The third time was like a mix of the first and second time.
