Thought it was over when he tagged him in the 3rd. Got too close and careless. AJ just gassed after that, weird build up by AJ bit like Lennox fighting Rahman.

Been feeling for a while that Joshua is overrated...apart from his win against an old Klitschko, what has he really done to impress? Lennox would have wiped the floor with him

Don't know what the hell happened to AJ tonight but he looked to have nothing left in the tank after the 3rd round! Very strange for that to happen to AJ, maybe those two knock-downs in the 3rd caused a hell of a lot of damage but I was still confident that he would go on to win comfortably. Rematch in the Winter probably at Wembley, I'd expect a completely different result but you never know.

He should of boxed Ruiz in a similar way to parker. I think the way wilder stopped brezeale just added to the pressure to put on a show hence the rush for the stoppage after the knockdown. Should win the rematch imo just needs to be more measured.

Didn't stay up to watch it. Was Joshua like Lewis against Hasim Rahman - not particularly up for the fight?

Pretty much, don't know about being up for it just more that I felt he kind of expected it to all happen and fall into place. Just rushed to finish a guy who actually had recovered. He can defo beat Ruiz just needs to concentrate more and not rush to blow him away. As has been said it was a strange feel to the fight. Rahman/Mccall that kind of thing. big muscles = gassing not sure how he fixes that ?.

Agreed. This isn't me jumping on any bandwagon but I have never rated him and always stated that I thought Fury would beat him by simply outboxing him. I admit however I did say last night travelling back from the stadium, I wasnt watching the fight as it would be pointless. Just shows you.

Just watching now, at the third round.

Ruiz responded so much better to being knocked down.

Joshua clearly struggling after the first knockdown.

Thought the fight was a complete mismatch due to the size but fair play to Ruiz. He now gets a massive pay day in London for the rematch.
