OK I'll bite
I may be being a Dumbarsed fuckwit here so feel free to correct me
But I was always led to believe numbers were universal ?

Yours confused

By the way 19 is still a young adult as is 18 but it's still a teen if that makes sense

Isn't it Dix Neuf in French? Sure that means like 10-9 rather than 9-teen. I could be talking shit though, as I did French years ago

He makes more passes per game than anyone else in the front four (he sees the amount of ball most central midfielders don't in this league), has double the assists of anyone else in our team, more key passes per game than anyone else, he tackles and intercepts more than Kane.

He's not perfect, that's why he's here and not Barca but to say he rarely gets up for games is just utter bollocks.
He cost us points against Everton because he plays like a girl. He tackles like a girl. In fact his name should be Christine Eriksen.

Numbers do seem to be fairly universal, they even use roman numerals in China, so 19 is stil 19 (but I haven't been everywhere man ....).

And yes 19 is Dix-Neuf in French. As for 69 ......... nevermind! :)

Did you even consider that few countires have English as their native language so we don't follow your "language rules". In many countires 19 is considered as an (young) adult.

If you don't follow English language rules why do you call teenagers teenagers then

I wasn't intending to be condescending as your reply indicates that I may have been. Apologies if that's how it semed. Just clarifying why 19 is considered teenage.

You may be right there i suppose it's pronunciation rather than the written number then ,interesting
Does that mean the word teen does not exist in some languages ?and if so what are people called between 13 and 20 ?

Actually don't answer it's not really that interesting and has feck all to do with this footballer.

Numbers are universal in that they all represent the same value, however in terms of numbers being used to represent age it's entirely relative to the social environment in which they are being used. For example, some countries consider people to be an adult at 16 (or their native language equivalent) others later on. The United States legal drinking age is 21, whereas in many other states it's 18 or even younger.

I'm with @Dharmabum on this, age is contextually different in different cultures and societies.

The numerical number 19 is universal, but what's it's referred to is not.

I only know 3 languages, but only in English is the suffix "teen" used which is what everyone is citing as meaning he's a "teen"ager. For example 19 in German is referred to as neunzehn, or "nineten" as an English equivalent, and as already pointed out French is "ten-nine" as an English equivalent. So therefore there is no "teen" to be found and with a lot of countries using the age of adulthood as 18 or similar, it's easy to see why someone would think a 19 year old is a "young adult" and no longer a teenager.

For future reference, to all our non-native English speakers. A teenager is someone who is aged 13 to 19 inclusive. A teenager doesn't mean young adult, or kid, or old kid, or adolescent, though he can be all of these things as well as a teenager. It simply means someone whose age ends in -teen. For this reason when someone says a person is still a teenager, they are not saying he is still a child they are saying that he is older than 12 and not as old as 20. There is no alternative to this meaning, it doesn't matter where you are from in the world, whether English is your first, second, or third language, this is what a teenager is.

Not sure where he would go and be first choice starter as a teen. Would play more than enough games for us and of good enough Kane can always play behind him
Lots of La Liga, Bundesliga, and Ligue 1 teams (high up teams as well) play very young stars like Embolo.

Does anyone know the correct pronunciation of this lads name?

Is it Embolo, as in Emb-oh-lo ?

Or is it Embolo, as in someone with a blocked nose trying to say "Envelope" ?

There are many clubs where he could get first team experience. And there are other leagues then the EPL where he could futher develop.
He's turning 19 in a months time, so not exactly a teenager.
Erm...he's exactly a teenager
