One of my customers (source verified by mod b4 anyone asks) is one of the Brighton & Hove Albion Physio's.
I was chatting to this person last night just before they went out for the evening (mentioned to establish that they were sober at the time) about football and how they were looking forward to the next season having been promoted, what I was really after was tickets for the Brighton v Spurs pre-season friendly.

Anyway, this person told me that Brighton had been in contact with Michael Owens agent (as mentioned by Boxset Dan in the Spurs Chat thread) and they are working hard on trying to bring him down to the south coast. they also said that West Ham have asked for permission to talk to Gus Poyet and the general feeling is it will depend on how much of an improved contract Brighton can offer him with regards to wages compared to what the porno brothers offer, it was felt that Gus is very money orientated.

Not sure if any of this will actually even interest anyone but that is what I was told openly and without any prompting or hints.

Cheers for sharing.

I'd hate to see Gus leave Brighton. But especially for them.

Brighton are on the up, new stadium, good bunch of players and so on. West Ham are falling down, down, down. Would be a very stupid move for Gus.

If West Ham are speaking to Gus it's not for the manager's job.

They're falling down, but they're unfortunately still lined up for a new stadium.

Yeah. Probably old-ish info or Gus as possible back-up. Can't see him acting as number two to Big Sam. Mirror opposites in style and approach.

I'd be disappointed in Gus if he left them for the Spammers, I thought there was a project there to get Brighton into the Prem and if it was me I'd want to see it through.

They gave him a chance in management and he hasn't exactly been there very long...

You reckon they feel he could still do a good job in midfield?

Owen, whilst still a top, top goalscorer, also seems a funny choice of signing as he struggles to fulfil 38 league games thesedays, so how many would they get out of him out of 46?

He might get chopped a bit more too.
