Leading 1-0 so cannot complain but whilst Brighton are just sitting back, we are really out of ideas in the final third. We have stopped getting in behind defenses it seems. Slow build up too.

Refreshing to see a decent ref. Best we’ve played in a while but still much room for improvement

Harry Kane does the business.

He smashes it into the left-hand corner and joins Jermain Defoe as the joint-highest goalscorer for Tottenham.

We've been much more like our normal selves today. Totally controlled the game even if we lack the penetration.
Considering Brighton have been very compact and very deep its understandable that we have found it hard to create. Hopefully they will loosen up a bit and we can get a chance to kill the game off. This next half will be very telling in regards to our fitness and confidence.

Need to get a second and kill this off. It's certainly been better, the passing has improved, Dier has played better and has sprayed a few nice balls, Dembele has retained possession well and been tenacious and Rose hasn't been great but I think his feistiness as well as his pace serves well against Knockhaert. At least there are some positives.

Still feels like something is missing on the attacking front, and it could be the potency that used to be offered through Kane. I think at our old best we would have peppered this goal a bit more.

Brighton have been entirely passive and have shown no ambition whatsoever, yet they're praised for their tactics? If I were a Brighton fan, I'd be furious with that first half performance. They're seemingly happy to roll over and sit in front of the ball against a team that have lost three in a row and are massively low in confidence. Long may it continue.

Couldn’t face watching it but turned on then saw the build up to the penalty and goal.

Look in control from what I saw but the second goal in this game is obviously key.

Looked like we’ve gone back to the formation that worked well for the last few seasons.

Son and particularly Lucas need to start playing inside the full-backs more. We've gotten more joy when they have.

In 146 less games...

But sub him off, quick!

(Harry is now 5th on the All-time Tottenham goalscorers list...)

There's just no space for our attackers.
Plan A is out of the window for them now though...sit deep and try to nick one on the break.
They've gotta come at us, which should open some space up.

One another note we should ditch Vorm and sign Murray as Hugos backup.
