My wife said to me, "Did you win 1-0?" I replied, "We're winning 1-0, but we've managed to screw that up the last two times." I then put my phone down and just stared at what she was watching on TV!A huge and much needed win and betters our result there from last season. Back on track and can watch motd again lol coys
Get the impression some are pissed off that we won.
Weird fucking bunch on here nowadays.

Yes, well supporting Spurs has been highlighted by the World Health Organisation as bad for health. I think it causes some sort of syndrome, low mood being a significant component.Er. I see football as entertainment not a religion. When I was younger and went home and away in the 80s I was more focused on the winning I suppose.
I have high blood pressure watching Spurs doesn't help
I don’t think it’s an issue in itself, break the press and you suddenly have a lot of space, and we thrive in those scenarios (just look at Lamela’s goal). Our huge issue is playing out with the midfield we currently have. Eriksen/ Dembele and Lamela, anchored by a quality CDM who is comfortable on the ball and reasonably mobile makes this tactic a much better option- basically a 433- but we’re not playing like that, nor do we have the right personal. But my feeling is that perhaps this is what Poch is looking for. Dier is clearly not that player- he’s a better CB. This is why we look so vulnerable when our defence is pressed- they could play longer balls but they’d end up near our forward line, which is easier to deal with when the opposing defence has a covering defender. You play out from the back and invite the press to create gaps in midfield which is harder to deal with when you have a forward line and a midfielder running at your defenceThe playing out from the back leaves me feeling ill. It was awful vs Inter and not great at times today,
Kane woeful? Have a day off.
There were multiple times where Knockaert failed to connect with his crosses despite having targets in excellent positions. Brighton threatened a lot more than just the one-on-one chance during the first 20-25 minutes of the second half.
We did have a very good spell to start the game, but after Brighton settled into the match we didn't really create much of note until Murray completely unnecessarily gave away a penalty. So we were fortunate to take the lead, and fortunate not to surrender it. If that's not riding your luck I'm not sure what is. After we got the second they lost their impetus and we could have scored a hatful, but to say that 3-0 would have been a fair scoreline is to ignore everything that led up to the second goal.
Regardless though the overarching point of my post was that there were a lot of positives to take away from the match despite what I felt was a fairly poor performance until the second goal. For the first time this season there were moments (particularly the first fifteen minutes and the final twenty or so) where we looked like ourselves from a collective standpoint, and as I said there was a lot to be encouraged by on an individual basis as well.
There's been a lot of gloom hanging around the club so far this season but you felt watching that match that we are beginning to build back toward our best. That's what I was trying to get at, despite the fact that I felt that we benefited from good fortune.
Lamela in the no10 looks good

Apologise to your other half- going to be a long, sweaty seasonToday I neither had a shower or a shave ,I feel I must apologize to you all for the last 3 results.
I'm not suggesting that on the whole we didn't deserve to win. I'm just saying that the match could have played out very differently had we not gotten a lucky penalty or had they taken advantage of the opportunities they created during the twenty minutes they were on top.I suppose I just don't really agree that they battered us for 20 minutes. It's just they did so little in the first half and suddenly some pressing put us under pressure in the opening period of that second half.
To be honest, you expect some kind of pressure playing away from home in the Premier league, and we weathered most of it. The really poor bit was conceding right at the death.
But overall, looking at the whole 90 minutes only one team deserved to win that game.
Even Glenn Murray talking in the studio now admitted we managed to play through their press in the end and produce moments of quality.
