Are we not one of the big 4?
Of course not. Perhaps once we've been in the new stadium for 10-20 years we will be. But there are four EPL clubs that are in a different echelon to us, in terms of financial clout.

I think the problem with Moura is that he often does his own thing and this may be why Pochettino is reticent with praise for him. It probably explains why Kane improved when Lamela and Alli were on with him, because he was confident in making his runs knowing the others would be on the same wavelength.Just watched it on a terrible recorded stream
Unavoidably detained yesterday
after the first half hour.
Could probably have commented
without actually watching it.
Dominated but didn't inspire or excite
but we won.
Lamela a bright spot.
Good to see Deli back.
Moura not a team player yesterday.
Son needs a rest.
Harry came to life late on.
A better team might have beaten us.
Gazzeniga promising.
Slightly quicker forward movement
but still too slow.
Eriksen worked hard.
Rose MOM?
Dembele MOM?
None deserved probably.
Might be me or the stream
but bank the points and move on.
12 from 6 good enough so far.
Everyone chill and watch this:
Straightforward question: would some of you on here who miss Redknapp prefer him to Pochettino and what he has built?Nothing lasts forever but some triffic times.
I know the reference is top four but in fairness mate there are 5 clubs in front of us financially at the moment but of course could change in years to come.Of course not. Perhaps once we've been in the new stadium for 10-20 years we will be. But there are four EPL clubs that are in a different echelon to us, in terms of financial clout.
You and others need to move on.

I know a lot of Spurs fans have been repeating this but..........I say it again, we badly need a central midfielder who has the ability to open up defences. A Pirlo type of player.
We always seem to have a lot of possession percentage in games but we fail to penetrate their final third to exploit their rearguard.[/QUOTE
Agree - where to find the next Pirlo though away from the clutches of the clubs with bigger resources? We have been linked with de Jong, and subsequently press linked him with both Manchester clubs
Please tell me someone is watching this debate on BT sport about us, it's brilliant.
That’s because they were both happy mostly buying toshHarry really likes Levy, he's always praising him and taking his side when it comes to talking Spurs.
I haven't got a problem with that at all. I thought he took us to a different level and honestly thought that when he stayed we would be going for the league title. However, he wanted the England job, everyone thought he'd get it, the club made preparations for it by contacting AVB and getting him scouting for players, so when he didn't get the job they were too far down the line. Redknapp then tried playing hard ball with the new contract, but Levy had all the cards. Finally, Redknapp told the world about the death of Levy's mother, which doesn't make a very private man very happy. It's more than possible to look back fondly on exciting times and also be pleased with where the club has come since then.
I doubt it. Why would anyone? We're better now, no one would disagree. But Redknapp helped us to get here and made us better than we had been before. As did Jol and Arnesen.
For those who didn't see this
Keep schtum, and laser focus on a domestic cup and try and nail one of those and bring in some silverware to give the players confidence in the project long term and it's ability to give them the accolades they desire in their career and give the fans what they've needed for many years now.
You are not the finished product as a manager. As much as I adore you, there's an element of entitlement about you where you believe you should be right at the top scooping up the highest available awards and all else is beneath you.
Absolutely. There are a good number of people who believe when we fail to win it's all down to us and when we win it's all down to the opposition (even in this thread "a better team would have beaten us"). We're in poor form no doubt, but in such times it's useful to be able to do "just enough" to win against the opposition in front of us.Great to read how cool, wonderful and definitely not upset everyone is. . .
Anyway, something that does interest me in all of the match threads is how the opposition get so little credit - it's always that Spurs were shit for allowing the opposition to take part in the game and that we should comfortable thump everyone outside the top 6 (and manage narrow wins against all of those!)
'Spursy'
Probably started out as a self deprecating friendly term.
Now agenda driven journalese
one of the many sticks
to beat us with.
Analysis for people who cant spell 'analysis'.
meaningless catchphrase
adopted unthinkingly by Spurs supporters
as a substitute for reason, comfort blanket.

You're poems are dreadful...Harry had an excellent team
and he let them play.
Credit for that.
He was an embarrassing
probably crooked self serving charlatan
that got away with stealing a living for years
Lives on through Jamie.
Indulged by the media
because he is one of their own.
Almost sold Bale for peanuts
got lucky because of injuries.
But he'll take the credit because he always did.
unless failure was someone else's fault.
Couldn't and can't stand the man.
I'm not averseYou're poems are dreadful...
I personally thing the opposite. Expecting spurs to fail isnt something a 12 year old would expect, but instead a more seasoned fan. People say Spursy are at least in their 30s!
I criedI'm not averse
to a bit of poetry.
This is more blank verse than poetry though
Shakespeare innit.
Straightforward question: would some of you on here who miss Redknapp prefer him to Pochettino and what he has built?
Well, that wasn't the question I wanted to ask, because I asked the question I wanted to ask. The reason is that a significant portion of the anti-Poch crowd still pine for Redknapp or haven't got over his departure.I think the question should have been, should the Chairman have backed both of them in the transfer market at a time when it was most evidently required?
I can see a lot of similarity in both teams and squads, and even in results, and both have at some point in time brought a modicum of success, but that success depends on what that measurement is?
I watched the post game the other day with Redknapp, Hoddle and Hargreaves commenting on what Spurs needed to go forward, and thought that though all three had differing opinions on the next step for Spurs, Hargreaves hit the nail on the head.
Investment in a couple of players he said was key, i wouldn't think that too many in here would disagree, and i feel this is so reflective of that video and one that may be made after Poch eventually at some point down the road, decides to move on?
