Normally I don't like to diss this team, as we are a fucking decent outfit, but fuck me, I am severely deflated after that fucking disgrace of a performance. Like, I'm not even angry, or sad, just totally fucking ambivalent, and kinda wondering why I waste so much of my time worrying about football results. Like, if I don't watch, there's nothing to be disappointed by... World keeps on turning etc...
But fucking hell, we have been a treat to watch over the last three seasons, and I kinda feel like our purple patch is coming to an end.
And I can't imagine it ever being as good again.
Like, last seasons team was the Spurs benchmark for me. I think our signings have been largely ineffective, we still lose our best players, and I can't help but feel that the seams are just starting to look a little frayed...

I guess we'll see what sort of performance we get on Saturday. Anything less than 100%, and I'll basically switch off for the rest of the season and see what hilarity ensues in the summer....

About 3 years now since I stopped letting our results get to me. At 51 I have seen us win FA Cups (when they really meant something) and that is far more enjoyable than watching many tedious tippy tappy league performances to get 4th.

I think as you get older you tend to see the game differently.
How on earth you pick out Sissoko as the target for your venting I'll never know. He had one of the highest pass completions on the team. Or are you just lashing out at an easy target?

I've watched Sissoko many times now and he is a coward when he has the ball as he generally just moves it sideways and without the ball he hides. Offers absolutely nothing. Who in our club is scouting players like Aurier and Sissoko? Any youtube of Aurier shows a rash player sliding in all the time.

We should not be in the position of having to worry about Chelsea and now we are. If we continue lacklustre performances they will catch us. Their bastard players will play out of their skins just to fuck us! Remember the Leicester league thing.?!
With a new stadium next season WE NEED CL FOOTY, we should be putting Brighton away and securing that shit as early as possible.

After Chelsea game we just felt too confident that TOP4 is ours. Especially after Stoke game, which wasn't our best but we still won, I guess players thought even more confident it is all over. And I hate it cause they should be aiming for second spot.

I'm so fucking vexed!! In the last two games, our final third play has been so atrocious. I was surprised when Lamela's shot was on target.

Out of four PL games left we only have one more away game - at WBA providing we count Wembley as 'home'

We should creep over the line.

If he doesn't give a damn about the FA cup then why has he rotated and rested players tonight?

I don't think for one second the players think it's secure, they will remember our collapse in 2016. It's possible that they have one eye on the game on Saturday.

That midfield that started today is the problem for me. Neither Sissoko or Wanyama can dictate play, neither can drive the team on, and neither will ever inspire. We needed better against a team that is fighting to stay in the league. You need intelligent and quick-thinking players and when Eriksen is off form we suffer.

Dembele had about 20 minutes to alter the game, which he's never done as a sub before. He's always at his best when starting because he gets control of the game, which allows us to get our rhythm easier. But what do you do play Dembele tonight and leave him out of the semi??

Poch had to pick that team tonight because we can't afford any big injuries going into the semi. I'm sure we will raise our levels again.

Only three games since the last one. He has done this before without an FA Cup semi final coming up. If he was that bothered about the FA Cup then Moura would have stayed on and Eriksen would have came off to have a rest.

And how quick we are to turn on a team that has given us so much in the last two years.

These match day threads are poison. Behaviour

There’s not much point being measured. People want to vent. Feel entitled to vent. It’s the way things are now.

Hopefully the negativity and poison doesn’t filter through to the club. We are supposed to be supporters.

Being a supporter doesn't mean you can't criticise though. That's absolute nonsene

If we went out the cup sure, but it would be forgotten about in a week or two.

No champs league next season because the wheels come off because we lose momentum.. that will be a kicker all next year.

If you reckon that's actually going to happen - and this goes for anyone else who things we're in real trouble because a rotated side drew with a mid-table team away - I suggest you go down the bookies and get on us missing the Top 4 at 33/1. In reality, that's our first poor result in quite some time, our form is still good, we have a significant points advantage, there's only four games left, and the team below us are in turmoil.

We as fans are fully entitled to vent against our team if we have high expectations of them. Its easy for the happy fucking clappers to invade the thread with their high horse bollocks. If we lose 4th it'll be a disaster...will you then say its all fine?

My last 20 negative reps have been for saying precisely this.
Kane has been really poor in the last 5-6 games he's been in. Time to open your eyes people.

Cue the two golden boots quotes.

3...2...1...

You were made to look foolish only the other day in SC when you talked down Kane, now you have returned for another dowsing.

When was his "last five or six games"?

Look at his scoring record, then come back in and look for a scapegoat.

Before his injury Harry scored:

1 Palace
1 Rochdale
1 Arsenal
1 Liverpool

4 Assists

Those were his "last five or sixe games" before he was injured.

11 March Injured against Bournemouth

Came on as a Sub against Chelsea 1st April

1 at Stoke

He is scoring a goal every 95 minutes. Just what do you want?

I mean you really do not know what you are talking about.

What's most frustrating about that performance is that the players seem to have given up on caring about league matches just like they did two seasons ago, but this time we haven't even mathematically secured the top four yet.

Central midfield is a massive problem that desperately needs to be addressed in the summer. You can't fault Sissoko's work rate but he kills our attacking momentum with the constant passes that go a step behind his intended targets. We need someone who can provide rhythm and tempo when Dembele isn't available or Eriksen is off the pace.
