Gonna try and put things into perspective a little bit now that the fury has faded... People say Liverpool would have put them to the sword by half time but I guess you can say this match was similar to theirs against Palace. They were very poor then, got lucky and that time managed to grab a late winne unlike us tonight but I guess these performances can happen against these teams at the bottom scrapping for points and when you make a few changes.

It's disappointing because we've seen every player play much better than they did today, well most of them and we haven't seen many performances of that quality (or lack of rather) many times this season which makes it almost infuriating to watch. Despite that, the most important thing is how we now respond. Thing is if Chelsea win on Thursday I not only see the semi final as a massive game but Watford at home too. Let's hope we raise ourselves and really win the remaining games in the manner that we should be. And let's also just hope that today was a blip and one of those poor performances that we've just gotten out of our system.
What is a bit scary is that we almost did exactly what we did today against Stoke but in both games we haven't helped ourselves. We got away with it against Stoke, unfortunately we didn't today.

Say all you want but a 5 point lead with 4 to play is a dodgy sending off/a bad performance /an Aurier start away from potential disaster.

Lets hope Burnley do us a favour and we don't get punished by picking an inexplicably weak side tonight.

Hopefully Bournemouth win tomorrow.

If that happens and Chelsea win, we're still closer to 2nd (3 points) than 5th (5 points).

It's not a 5 point lead with 4 to play unless Chelsea beat Burnley. Right now it's an 8 point lead, we have four to play and they have five, plus a much better GD and an easier run-in.
Like Brighton? After tonight i will relax after we secure the points. The Arsenal debacle of 2016 is still rather fresh.

Yes mate I know. And I expect us to see ourselves over the line.
Just frustrating that we still need to look over our shoulder when we could have picked a proper side and given ourselves more opportunity to win tonight.

I didn't really care about finishing above anyone now as long as we get CL.

We had (on paper) harder fixtures in 2016 than this season. And we have three home games left.

I think we've let ourselves down tonight and to an extent against Stoke as well, but I'm confident that this is because we've let our focus shift too much to the semi final and once that game is out of the way, and a possible final is a week after the end of the season, we'll get our focus right in the run in.

I would rather Bournemouth get beat to be honest - No that arsed about catching United, but don't really want to face them on the back of two straight defeats.

There's basically no game that you can play Aurier in and be safe.

I dont like him but cant really blame him for the penalty.
What happened at the end there with the time? Friends paused the corner as he questioned Eriksens honesty (time lost), then he stopped the game for a Brighton player who was down in the area, then as soon a we won the ball back and started to break up field blew for time. What did he add on 10 seconds?

To be honest, I'd rather have points in the bag than games in hand (where there's no guarantee that there will be wins from all the games in hand).

Did my eyes deceive me or was the first Eriksen freekick blocked by Murrays arms in front of him whilst he jumped? Isnt that a penalty?

If you reckon that's actually going to happen - and this goes for anyone else who things we're in real trouble because a rotated side drew with a mid-table team away - I suggest you go down the bookies and get on us missing the Top 4 at 33/1. In reality, that's our first poor result in quite some time, our form is still good, we have a significant points advantage, there's only four games left, and the team below us are in turmoil.
Actually they have a game in hand so 5 games to play. That’s 15 points for them to win. They have an easy run in besides the Liverpool game. They are hardly in turmoil they won away at the weekend something we failed to do tonight! We really need Burnley to do us a favor Thursday or it’s going to go down to the wire. After the Chelski game we should have been out of site. How do we do this to ourselves.

Recorded the match and just finished watching it..... well that’s 90 mins of my life I won’t be getting back.

Absolutely fucking dreadful. Played like we were moving in treacle and everyone bar Toby and Moura looked like they were just going through the motions until Sat.

That might be okay if we had an unassailable lead over Chelsea, but after a 3 point swing at the weekend we could ill afford such a lacklustre performance.

It’s still very much in our hands, but if we were to win on Saturday it raises the possibility of more half arsed performances thinking about the final.

Don't you mean two wins and two draws? If Chelsea win on Thursday they cut the gap to 5. That affords us two draws or possibly one defeat if Chelsea win out. Goal difference is in our favour at the moment but that could swing before the season is out.

Ideally win the next two as Newcastle is the trickiest fixture of all those for me.

If Chelsea beat Burnley they are five points behind with fifteen to play for?

So don't we need nine points if Chelsea win out?

Now your'e making my head hurt..........

Nope. If Chelsea win out they finish on 75, meaning we need 2 wins and 1 draw to finish level on points and nearly certainly ahead of them on goal difference, or 2 wins and 2 draws if they somehow start winning all their matches by three goals. This all assuming they win more league matches in the next month than they have since the start of January, including against a very good Liverpool team, a Burnley side in amazing form, and Newcastle looking rather good right now too.

You Sir have just saved me at least one sleepless night!

Sorry to anyone who i have added one sleepless night to!
