Last nights game was another I felt it such a shame Winks has had such an injury hit season. He'd have started and his passing ability would've helped us perform much better in my opinion. Really thought he'd kick on this season, he's been very unlucky. Hopefully he gets fit over summer and either gets another chance here or a PL loan, he's got real potential.

If Chelsea beat Burnley they are five points behind with fifteen to play for?

So don't we need nine points if Chelsea win out?

Now your'e making my head hurt..........

Yes that’s the way I see it. This why I was so disappointed last night. We need to get at the very least two more wins in the bag before I will fill the way some people are feeling now. I feel Poch prioritized the FA cup last night and that was wrong. We need our best 11 on the field. And I don’t think we did. Also he needs to make changes in formation quicker and personnel if need be. I just hope these decisions don’t come back to bite us in the arse come the end of the season.
Come on Burnley!

with the run-in we have (Watford, Baggies, Geordies and Leicester) we'll only have ourselves to blame if we cant get two wins and a draw and Chelsea win all 5 of their remaining games. Have i got that maths right?

I hope not I am not worried about Chelsea I want to finish above Liverpool.
You should be. We need 7 points and the way we have played in our last 2 games that is looking more and more tougher each week. It’s not that we only got a point last night, it’s we only deserved a point. So if we play like that, getting 7 will be tough.
I think Chelski’s game vs Burnley will put it in perspective.

Even if Chelsea win all their remaining games, which is unlikely with their current form imo they would finish on 75 points.
That means 7 more points and we are guaranteed 4th. With our remaining games 3 of which are at home and 1 away to a already religated West Brom I fancy our chances
Most people fancied our chances against a man city side that blew winning the league at home to arch rivals Utd and then got embarrassed by Liverpool in the Champions League! Most people thought we would would rebound after a dismal performance at home to City and really show up against a poor team like Brighton, but that didn’t happen either.
That West Bromwich side you dismiss so easily just beat Manchester United at Old Trafford. The same Man Utd that beat Man City at home the week before, nobody would have predicted those results so I am not dismissing West Bromwich so quickly!
Bearing all this in mind and our last two performances, how we can say that they are confident that we can get the 7 points required is beyond me.
We need to wake up, we are at real risk of not making the CL places if we play like we have in the last few weeks.
Poch has to do his part also, but the minimum we should expect is for our players to turn up.
Feels just like the Newcastle And Chelski games when we had a chance of winning the bloody league for Christ sake - I don’t know exactly what it is but something is missing!

Thye have 5 games left?

Burnely
Swansea
Liverpool
Huddersfield
Newcastle

I think he meant that if they beat Burnley then they would have 4 games left with 5 points to catch up with us. So all we'd need from our four remaining PL games is to get 7 points (if we maintain having a superior GD over Chelsea) or 8 points (if discounting any GD) to be clear ahead of Chelsea and that's only provided that Chelsea win all their remaining PL games (including the one against Burnley).

And I predict 14 points so we need at least two wins and a draw, depending on goal difference. We should be worried. Not panicking but definitely worried.

How would Chelsea get 14 points from 5 games?

5 wins would give them 15 pts
4 wins and a draw would give them 13pts

I don't think Winks' presence would have made much of a difference in the final result.

We had a better quality starting 11 than Brighton did. We dropped points in the game because too many of our players were not at their usual best on the day.

Went last night. Still feel fed up. We were below par. Decisions didn't go our way- blatant penalty when the defender pushed Eriksen with his hands right in front of me but we needed to do more.
I just want to get in the CL so i can stop worrying!

yes, the math is correct barring a 12 goal swing in GD. and 3 of those 4 are at home.

There is no meltdown so no-one needs to be a drama queen. Every match those 2 play in there are question marks about them IMO whilst every single other player has at one time or other showed their value and why they are being selected whether they were poor or not last night. Are you wanting to curb anyone else having an opinion that is different from yours?
Mine is we should be able to find better than both of them. Does that constitute a meltdown? Does it make me a hater?
Not sure where I’ve said no one can have a different opinion to mine? Don’t be a drama queen ?

The haters will hate, and although Sissoko isn't the best player by any stretch of the imagination, it fashionable to pick him and Aurier out - yes I know Aurier cocked up for the penalty. Like you said, we had 9 other players on that pitch that were poor. I can understand the frustration at not winning the match, I'm also not a Sissoko fan and Aurier will take a lot of convincing to believe he will be the number one RB, however, the meltdown regarding them two is funny and some comments embarrassing.

Couldnt agree more!

That’s the worst prediction ever,
It’s impossible for them to get 14 points from 5 games ?

The draw against Brighton was disappointing but hardly a disaster like some are making out. Resting players was a calculated risk in my opinion worth taking as the FA cup semi is a far more important match than the match against Brighton.

To put things in perspective:

A) If Chelsea win all 5 we need 2 wins and 1 draw, barring a 11 goal swing in goal difference.

B) If Chelsea win 4 and draw 1, we need 1 win and 2 draws, again barring GD swing.

C) If Chelsea win 4 and lose 1, we need 1 win and 1 draw, or 4 draws, barring GD swing.

D) If Chelsea win 3 and draw 2, we need 1 win or 3 draws, barring GD swing.

Are we capable of getting 2 wins and a draw from our remaining 4 matches? Of course we are. Chances are we won't even have to do that much though - scenarios B, C and D are far more likely.

In terms of progression, is it right to expect us to be able to challenge for a top 4 spot and a cup by now? I kind of feel that it isn't unreasonable.

I think we’ll get top 4 this season, winning a cup relies so much on luck as well that I won’t be upset if we dont (well, aside from the irrational depression losing always brings!) more happy now that we are consistently challenging for the league and trophies.

What can we expect? I’m just enjoying the ride, I’m more proud of the club now than ever. All down to Poch - I love the character of our team - regardless of which particular games we win. This game stung because our players are better than that performance but when I look back at the dross we’ve had to live with previously, there’s no comparison. I expect to love the journey Poch is taking us on.
