When: Saturday, 22nd September 2018

Where: The American Express Community Stadium

Kick Off: 05:30 pm

Team Form Brighton WLLDD Spurs WWLLL ( All competitions)

Brighton have only won one of their last nine games against us in all competitions (W1 D2 L6), a home victory in April 1983. We have only failed to find the net once in our previous 15 matches against Brighton in all competitions, a 1-0 loss at White hart Lane in October 1981. Brighton have lost just one of their last 9 EPL home games (W5, D3) losing 0-2 vs Leicester in March.

After an unbeaten run of 9 EPL away games (W6 D3), we have lost 2 of our last 4 on the road in the top-flight (W2). We are looking to avoid 3 consecutive EPL defeats for the first time since 2012. We have only failed to score in one of our last 16 EPL away games (0-1 vs WBA in May).

After losing their first 3 EPL league games against "big six" opposition by an aggregate score of 1-11, Brighton are unbeaten in four against them, (W3, D1). They have gone 2 down in their last two EPL games but avoided defeat both times. No team has done this in three consecutive games before, with Leicester in September 2015 the last side to do it twice.

Brighton striker Glenn Murray has scored 4 goals in his five EPL games this season, including 3 in 2 at the Amex Stadium. However, he has never scored in 4 EPL appearances against Tottenham.

Harry Kane has scored once in four league appearances against Brighton, though that goal came in this exact fixture last season.

I'd like to see Alli, if fit, in a cm position Alongside a fit wanyama. If not, then Eriksen along side dembele.

Need to get that cm moving that ball. Eriksen can do it, but i think Alli more suited as he is more industrious. Especially against a Houghton defense. A ponderous cm will make this painful to watch.

I can only hope we see some.energy a pochettino side is famed for. Play with the required intensity and Brighton won't be able to cope. It's a game for moura and Lamela to start imo.

Shake off that malaise boys! Your fans are craving.

If we lose, the meltdown is going to be stupendous.

The manner of the loss against Inter may leave the team feeling a bit deflated. Hopefully Poch has drilled into them that the season has only just started and we can turn it around.

In my opinion this is a vital three points. I'll take a performance and some energy to our play, too.
We need to kick up a gear.

We have to win tomorrow. Anything less doesn't bear thinking about. The sports media is already all over us for losing three in a row, having snatched defeat out of the jaws of victory in Milan. Brighton don't have much of a goal threat but we do. Let's start bloody well using it.

Thankfully, Sonny is back and after a few cameo performances should fully back to match fitness and that will be an enormous help.

Nobody doubts we have the personnel to really hurt teams like Brighton, but we need to prove it. I don't care how 'deflated' the players were after the match in Milan, nothing will even come close to how deflated us fans were. I don't want them to feel deflated, I want them to feel bloody angry. It's all their own doing FFS so PUT IT RIGHT tomorrow, and you can start by ditching the stupid idea of playing the ball out from defence. We can't do it, that's bloody obvious, even to me. Defenders are receiving the ball either facing the goal or at the same time as they're under attack from high pressing strikers. FFS LUMP IT!!!

Rant over.

I think we will be fine. The 6 goals conceded really have been sloppyness and concentration. It’s not like we are being carved apart. And we’ve still scored in 42 of our last 43 games. I saw enough on Tuesday to be confident. Honestly I was still a little bit unsure on moura but Tuesday convinced me he is top draw. He looked unplayable at times.

I think I agree, especially on Moura, there were times where he stood up to a defender just begging them to make the first move so he could push it wide and dance around them, that kind of bravado has been missing from our team for a good while.

I’d actually quite like to see Son Kane moura as 3 used in the way Liverpool use their front 3. I think player for player there’s not much in it and our 3 could be just as effective.

Didn't think i'd ever be so nervous about a match against Brighton 6 games in to the season.

Absolute must win. And must perform, to boot.

I’m hoping for a fluid three of Wanyama sitting, Eriksen and Dele as the pivot in front, with Lamela and Lucas flanking Kane further forward. I also hope Rose, Aurier and Sanchez start with Vertonghen as their alternatives are all rather slow. I can live with either Son or Kane up front.

This really is a massive match for us, you just feel that we're at the crossroads, win and we can build, lose and who knows where we go from there.

What I wanted in the summer but I'm concerned by Eriksen and how sometimes he is scared to go into a challenge, also whether it plays dele to the best of his ability. Sometimes I worry dele lacks the ball playing ability and he needs that free role closer to striker where he's not involved in the build up. Does allow us to fit Moura in and another winger and I'd also go with Lamela too for the press.

I Would take anything that freed up some creativity from the middle to be honest. It is such a glaringly obvious issue. Winks clearly is not ready to be starting games. I'm a bit surprised at poch there to be honest.

As many of us surmised preseason, we thought poch might be dropping players from the am3 back more. Alli did in the opening games I suppose. But Dier and Dembele are very wooden and create nothing. Nada. Zilch. my problem with a cm3 is it doesn't allow for as much of a press up front. Which is meant to be the hall Mark of his tactics. That said, we haven't really seen much of it anyway.

Change it up poch.

I’ll actually be nervous tomorrow, after our last couple of performances.
I've been given tickets for the game but sadly in the Brighton end, so I can’t wear my shirt or celebrate IF we score, which will be really hard.
But at least I get to see a game. COYS

We have been shooting ourselves not only in the foot but in the face. Its hard enough beating Prem teams with everything being equal but we seem to want to beat ourselves. Cut the utter shit mistakes out and we will find our form.

Firstly tks for accepting me on the site, 59yrs supporting Spurs.
I have just watched replay of Inter match and Moura certainly impressed again but I looked again at Kane's reaction after rounding their keeper for the chance he had and wonder if there's more to the ankle problem, why after running ball out did he then hop on his left leg as though the right one was giving big probs plus his lack of shooting compared to his normal game just made me think maybe it's worse than being made out. Would have preferred to see rested tomorrow and maybe let Moura lead the line know it's not ideal but just concerned if Kane doing more harm.

I want a win and I either want Gazzaniga in net or an injuired Hugo I do not feel comfortable with Vorm in net, I do not want to dump all our issues on Vorms shoulders but with 6 goals conceded in three games we need a change.
