OK so there I have said it. The lad's Real Madrid dream is going sour by the day. His form is off, the fans don't appreciate him and some even down right hate him. Why should he not return to play for the fans that love him? I guess a lot of us may be thinking this but it seems like its too hard a task. Too expensive, we play a different type of football now under Poch, it's going back to the one man team syndrome, no - we have moved on etc - all the usual points get raised.

But secretly who would not like Harry and Gareth playing together? Who would not like to see the Balester bombing down the left flank again? Who would not want arguably the best British player of his generation back where he belongs at WHL. He was born to play for Spurs right? Wouldn't it be massive statemen of ambition by the club and ENIC?

The writer of the article below seems to think so as well and even has a plan for funding the purchase. Sell Loris, Soldado, Lamela, Capoue etc to fund it. Simple enough eh? Plus there is all that silly TV money floating around innit?

Now own up - who would not want Gareth back?

I like what Poch has done with with the squad, in particular what he has done for the players' mentality by helping to promote a core, but to hell with all of it if it meant bringing Bale back. I massively enjoyed watching him play for Spurs.

That having been said, we shouldn't sell Lloris to do it, nor would we need to - if there was any chance of realism in it.

Obviously this is pie in the sky. There is no way Lamela would bring in £ 20m, more like 10 m. Paulinho, Capoue, Soldado, Chiriches , Townsend, Lennon , Kaboul and Adebayor together only about 50 m even if we could find buyers which for some would be highly questionnable. We would still need to bridge the gap which means selling either Lloris or Eriksen or possibly Vertonghen ( replacement needed ) . And Bale is not likely to jump at coming back if we sell 1 of our 3 best players.( Kane being the 3rd not Verts. )
So it won't happen but hopefully he will stay at Real rather than go somewhere else in the EPL.

About time uncle Joe splashed some of his 3.8 billion if there is a chance we could get him back.

If we got some money back from all the flops we have, JL should throw in the rest to bring Bale back, better than risking money on players we don't know....i would settle for just buying Bale and the addition of Pritchard, Carol,Ali and Yedlin
Take a hit onLamela,Soldado,Paulinho,Capoue,Kaboul,Ade and Chirches,Azza,Townsend etc..

Bale back would almost certainly mean success if we add him to the likes of Harry,Bentaleb, Mason,Eriksen etc and ofc Poch.

Can't see it happening though.....he will either stay at Real or the untinkable... go to City or Utd .

Definitely not.

Sends the wrong message to our youth players, who as a group, pulling for each other, will be more likely to win trophies than relying on a prima dona wantaway whose wages we couldn't afford.

Can we end this discussion as well? We don't need an ego in the dressing room, and he's unfortunately developed one now. Plus, he ain't even a Spurs fan unlike our what our future team would be.

The only bit i agree on are his wages, although if he wanted to come and take a slight drop in wages our sponsers, the tv money, JL could cover it, and add that to the fact we would reduce our wage bill by getting shot of all the dead wood it wouldn't be impossible though unlikely.

What sort of message would it send to our youth players??..are you kidding me, it would send a message that we can buy one of the top players in world football, it would send a message that he would want to play with them, it would send a message to them that the grass is not always greener....its not gonna happen, but its a no brainer to bring him back.

He is a player who always gave everything when he played for us, prima donna ? really? .....he gave more effort to us than most of the players we bought with his money have put in combined....i would take him in a heartbeat.

Anyway this ain't gonna happen.

Meh. Call me optimistic but our team will be better without Bale. So, what message it sends? We don't need anyone else.

They don't need to seek the acceptance of one bailing Gareth Bale. One of the top players in the world, Harry Kane, plays and has always played for the club. I'd rather we rope in young players who'd love to come and challenge themselves with a bunch of lads to win trophies as a team and a club. Those that are not going to be dropping "It was a dream to play for Real Madrid, always, I mean Barcelona, what's that Chelsea put in a bid, but PSG beat them to it, oh only wants to sell to Man City, I have always been a Man City fan."

I think you might be jumping the gun in calling young Harry one of the world's top players.

If I'm going to take this seriously for a second... Naturally we haven't received the full payment from RM yet, it being only 1,7 years since he left or something like that. So we wouldn't have to raise 80-100M pounds, because a huge part of such a deal would be us forfeiting the part of the fee not yet paid us. Then, we could most likely sell players, and without weakening the team, gathering whatever we would need to come up with of funds beyond the sum we'd forfeit. It can be done.

Would love to see him back playing for us. It ain't gonna happen though. I wish it was different for him over there and he was playing well and worshiped by the fans. Only because I know it's gonna make me feel like shit when he signs for city united or Chelsea

I don't think this is really likely at all, honestly. Wages would be more than a club of our standing can afford unless he took a massive pay cut. That being said, I would be fucking ecstatic if it did happen and think we could easily challenge with top 4 with Bale in our squad.

Would love to see Bale back with Spurs but sadly I can't see it happening. If he were to leave RM there would be too many other clubs ready to take him off their hands. RM would want to use him as a bargaining tool to get their next 'star' signing.

I so hope not - a good reason to make sure Utd miss out on a top 4 finish and CL - a win at OT on Sunday would be a good start.
Really doesn't matter if they have CL football or not, still one of the richest clubs in the world and totally self sufficient
