He was the next coming of christ last summer and nobody had mentioned Lucas as a potential signing at all. Without getting into it, if this could be done for cheap (maybe free) then get him in and replace Lamela. Given the opportunity that would be what I'd do.

Either way, if this guy is decent and has done the same then it would be a very Levy signing. Could be part of the "creative" info we got?

As far as I'm aware, he's an out and out winger. Right footed. A different player to Lamela. He would be a copy of Lucas. I don't see the point. We're linked with Martial and Zaha sure, they can play striker too. Anyway, not the thread for it.

Granted it was only a couple of games but against Benfica especially he didn’t look anywhere near good enough for us. He kept massively over hitting through balls ala Sissoko and outdoing himself when doing step overs... finding his feet pointing one way and the ball not where it was meant to be. The Benfica players on the other hand looked excellent... Silva in particular was very impressive (attacking midfielder).

I said last summer and will say it again, Daniel Podence is way better than Gelson. @Hercules said we were aware of him but a deal was difficult / impossible, might be different now as Podence has also given notice of termination. Not going to post a YouTube in this thread but go and look and you will see a young Eden Hazard.

Why? Gelson wasn’t available on a free at the time (circa £60-70m buyout clause) and he’s not as good as Moura. The latter has delivered on a bigger stage, Gelson has only performed in a poor Portuguese league.

Nothing in life is free and neither is gelson. There would be massive signing on fee and big wages wanted. Competition from other clubs will mean the overall package probably wont be far off what the package for moura is.

Yep. Think the players have a pretty strong case though. If you are frightened to return and have received abuse previously the courts are unlikely to force you to. They will argue their lives are at risk.
