So you think he's a good source?
Pretty good yeah.
The links aren't new though. Been mentioned by ITKs earlier.
Nah Kovacic hadn't really been mentioned recently, Cristante was mentioned by Trix and Matt Law at about the same time and Lascelles was first mentioned by Matt Law as well.

People really need to understand that whilst our ITKs are great, there are some journalists that also have good sources and shouldn't be completely disregarded because they work for a newspaper/Sky Sports.

Matt Law mentioned Cristante by name before I did publically, although I had previously posted it to the SC hierarchy. Unless he's been hacking private conversations on here then I'd say it's safe to say he now has a decent line of info from the club, which hasn't always been the case IMO.

When I worked on a newspaper sports desk for 10 years, some of the reporters had absolutely impeccable sources – sometimes the players themselves, or family members of the players, their agent, club physic, club secretary, former players who were still well connected, former managers…
People are living in cloud cuckoo land if they think all football writers are grizzled hacks with no sources and a vicious agenda against certain clubs, absolute nonsense.
On one occasion a county cricket club's press officer was ringing my mate up poo-pooing his story and claiming he had no sources, when the player involved in the story had popped round his house for a cuppa the previous evening and given him the full lowdown on what was going on. When I covered a League One club, the club press officer was regularly round my house, and gave me all sorts of tidbits off the record. I used to write a column with the club's former captain, and he gave me loads of info off the record. The club physic was a mate, who would share info that came his way on a regular basis. I could go on.

Yep lots of places bits can and do come from. From experience though most ex players/managers(as you mentioned) are no where near as connected as they like to think they are. That is why most of what pundits say is nothing more than generic bollocks being passed round between themselves!

Good point. The one I wrote the weekly column with was, as he had only retired a year previously and was still friends with players on the staff. I only ever covered League Two and League One football clubs, as well as a little bit of county cricket and Premiership rugby, and I suspect the higher up the football ladder you go, the more secretive the clubs are, the more media managed the players are, and as a result the fewer leaks you get, but the principles are the same.

I reckon Pogba to RM is one to keep an eye on, maybe then they'd be more willing to budge on Kovacic.

If there’s one midfielder we could sign from RM it’s Dani Ceballos. Very highly rated before signing for RM last summer, but it hasn’t worked out for him there. Liverpool are being strongly linked.

Juventus, Inter, and Roma are all currently interested in midfielder Bryan Cristante, Gianluca Di Marzio reports.
I'm not sure what the current financial situation is for Roma and Inter but I know they've had their struggles with FFP in the past years. Can't imagine we could pull him in if Juve truly wants him. They do need a rejuvenation of their midfield and I don't think just bringing in Emre Can will cut it.

seems to be close to joining to Roma. Makes me think that this is quite a miss then if Roma (and more importantly Monchi) is pushing hard to sign him

Ah but agents know quite a bit even when it's not their clients

Roma's workflow for buying players is rather easy to pick out tbh.
1. Are Spurs linked? Yes
2. Is he their #1 target? No

Im not fussed, really don't think his skill set would work in the PL. I have never really been that impressed by him.

People love to big up Monchi but somehow no one points out that Monchi’s MO is to throw A LOT of shit at the wall and see what sticks. Just take a look at what he did in Sevilla. They would regularly purchase a dozen or more players and see what works.

So to be honest the way Monchi operates there are more failures than successes. He just gets all the credit for the big hits and no one pays attention to the sheer volume of signings. So if Monchi is interested it doesn’t mean the player is necessarily any good just that the player is likely young and reasonably priced.

Whatever, wasn't super excited about him anyways. Who the heck are we looking at for CM at this point?!

Is getting rather concerning. Our midfield is the number one priority imo. Not hearing much in the way of links.

I think the lack of links suggests that Eriksen will be playing a deeper role next season.

It reminds me of a couple of summers ago, when we need a DM, but moved Dier instead of signing one.

I don't hate it as I think he could morph into a Modric type of player and would allow us to put another more offensive minded player on the field and actually play with two wingers.. Son - Dele - Lucas behind Kane with Eriksen and Dier/Wanyama in front of the back 4. I personally don't think that is enough creativity on the field but I know most will disagree with me.
