Bayern Munich denied a stonewall penalty 2-1 down deep in injury time in the Cup final. Eintract Frankfurt go up the other end after the VAR and score to win 3-1 with the last kick of the game
Yeah, crazy that wasn't given. Happy tho. Always nice to see someone other the Bayern win something.

I see Ante Rebic scored twice for Eintracht Frankfurt as they beat Bayern in the cup final today. Always said he'd be a class signing. Weirdos like @Bus-Conductor criticised him for taking a couple of steps back during his development but I knew he was wrong.

Proof that VAR is a waste of time.
The ref “reviewed it” pitchside, can see the contact and STILL makes the wrong call.

Glad Bayern didn’t win though.

I wouldn't say it's proof that it's a waste. I think it's proves that it's not idiot proof and refs still make poor decisions even with all the evidence in front of them.

So apparently Max Meyer has decided to sign for Hoffenheim on a Bosman. A bit of a coup for them. Suspect largely because of the draw of working with Nagelsman.

It wasn’t stone wall, it looks like it was a pen, but there is only one close angle, from behind, and you cannot tell 100% that Boeteng makes contact with Martinez’s foot, therefore the ref cannot give it.

I understand that it looks, and probably was a pen, but a ref can’t give a pen based on probability.

Kovac and half the Frankfurt team said post match it was a penalty.

You cannot have pitch side VAR and see the contact and not give a pen. I’m happy for Frankfurt, truly I am, but it’s stone wall. Everyone here in Germany agrees.

You can see what appears to be a foul, but you can’t actually conclusively see the contact, therefore I understand why it’s not given, and certainly why a decision isn’t overturned.

It’s not “stonewall” imo because it requires an element of assumption.

Come on, even KPB admitted it was a foul

It was a foul, that's not the point I'm making, for the ref to call it, and reverse his decision, he's got to see it and be 100% certain to Gove a penalty, and from the behind angle - you think you see it, but you don't see it clearly.

All I'm saying is, I understand why the ref didn't change it, even after viewing it.

It's not worth starting a new thread with only about a month of the season left, but is anyone watching Bayern against Dortmund?

Dortmund are being destroyed out the at the moment. Only two nil, but could be four down already. Massive mistake by Zagadoo for the second goal.

Yeah, chose to watch this instead if the FA Cup as I thought it would be more of a contest, seems I may have been wrong! Dortmund should have taken the lead, but really are yet to get going.

So they ended up giving the title to Bayern in the end anyway? Wow.

Wtf has happened to Schalke? They always use to have a couple of really good players and a few good youngsters. It seems that it all dried up after Sane left.
