Just watching the Schalke v RB Leipzig. Leipzig play a very intense system, and started the better but Schalke weathered it and then scored from a long through ball played by Bentaleb for DeSanto which resulted in a pen which Bentaleb then converted.

Keita played a strange role, kind of half "8" half ALM.

Bayern took Levrekusen apart last night, though Leverkusen did have moments and despite banging in a few goals, Bayern didn't quite look as efficient as a unit to me. Tolisso had a good game.

Anyone catch the Freiberg v Dortmund highlights on BT Sport now. Comical event. Socratis plays a ball into the box, then goes down like he's been shot when he was just brushed, meanwhile Aubamayang scores after a bit of pin ball just as the ref, seeing Socratis down blows up for a delayed free kick. In other words, Dortmund would ave scored (at 0-0 80min) if their own player hadn't faked a foul.

Did Dortmund have a lot of good moments?

Recorded that one to watch on "BC-time" so I may get to it by the time we play CL game ;)

Sorry if I've just spoiled any suspense re the first 88 minutes HS..
Don't fret too much as it's the last 2 minutes that really brings it home. Truth be told I prefer to know the outcome before watching so I can 'watch and analyse' and not get caught up in it.

A lot made of Bibiana Steinhaus being the first female ref in a top league when she refereed Hertha-Werder. Increasing the pool of referees among both genders is so important and she seems to have done well. Good for her and for the game IMO.

BC-Time has arrived and I'm watching the game. Quick report: The Dortmund that played in this game was shit. I mean lacking everywhere. The involved a VAR-assisted sending off for Freiburg in the 32min (actually 26th buth Schmelzer was down for a few minutes) and that is where I am 'reporting' from now.
they have injuries (sicknote Reus has another ACL but that is expected, Bartra went down, and Schmelzer went down) and they are adjusting to Bosz tactics but they are definitely not the same as a couple years ago. And without Dembele they look less than threatening. And I have always just thought PEA as a speed merchant with very little else.

A friend may have told me where the game can be viewed or quickly downloaded if you would like to see it. I would imagine a quick PM could get you this info.

Edit: So little quality in this Freiburg team.

Thanks, but I caught bits and bobs of it already (had it without paying too much attention to it). Still think they'll give us a game though. Still players like Gotze, Pulisic etc and they will be set up well and lively.

The bold isn't true. He's a very good striker. Can shoot from distance, finish up close, take free kicks, cross, hold it up, run in behind, win and score headers as well as being absolutely rapid.

The bold we can agree to disagree on. And were he "a very good striker" where were all the takers climbing all over each other to sign him this season? The number was only 60M Euro? Perhaps other knowledgeable people see something, or lack thereof, that you do not. If Lewa was available at a similar price would Chelsea, for sake of argument considering they needed a striker, have gobled him up?

Don't get me wrong I don't think he is a chump but I would put him in the same category as Cavani, basically a class below where our Harry is going.

Bayern v Wolfsburg. 1-0 Lewa pen. Wolfsburg have a lot of names that were cited as interesting us like Younes Malli, Max Arnold, Origi, etc. 2-0 now, Robben not cutting in from left but rather from the center after a bad loss of possession in the MF.

My oh my wolfsburg have equalized. They brought on Daniel Didavi (another we were linked iwth) and his has leveled it up. Bayern are really struggling. Wolfsburg has really got the legs on them.

Went to the Frankfurt vs Augsburg game on Sept 15th. Wasn't the best standard of football in the game but must say the atmosphere, arena & general feeling made the whole game a really great experience. From the approach to the stadium to being searched as I entered the stadium while still holding my pint I thought the bundesliga was fantastic and would highly recommend a visit.

Ancelotti out at Bayern. Is it as easy as calling up Tuchel? Or do they try to grab someone else from another club?

I am not sure Bayern will grab a former Dortmund coach and Tuchel did fine, but no more than that.
The question we might need to ask is, will Bayern consider an approach for Poch? Not saying we will entertain it of course...
