'Busy' festive period

I've always thought the festive period was crammed full of games and a real test of a squad to play so often in such a short period but this year it feels like we're playing less than we normally do during the Europa Group stage.

Has this year been quieter for some reason or am I just getting old and cynical?

I think if anything it's harder on the clubs that aren't used to playing twice a week. But it also depends as much on the travelling as it does the game itself.

I think because Christmas was a Friday there was only really time for the two games, if it was Tuesday, we could have got a Saturday-Wednesday-Friday-Sunday run or something

There's no New Year's Day games which is a bit strange.

This. I think how Xmas fell this year meant that most clubs had a clear week before Boxing day.
