But that's a completely separate argument. The point isn't whether Brazil could beat Real Madrid, it's about whether the standard of football at the world cup is the highest in the game, and you've just admitted that it isn't and then completely changed the question

And as you said, the quality at the last Euros was so fucking terrible I was almost ashamed to watch it.

Haven’t moved the goalposts at all. OP said “ it was the highest level” depends how you want to interpret that. In terms of an achievement a World Cup winners medal trumps a CL winners medal by a mile.

Quit whilst you're ahead.

You twice reiterated that the WC was the "highest level of world football" and then once everyone disagreed with you you completely backpedaled and admitted that the CL was a higher level, then moved the goalposts and said that you were only saying Brazil would beat Real Madrid, which is a completely different conversation.

“Back-pedalled” ? I agreed the depth of CL is stronger at last 16. But maintain the World Cup is the highest level of achievement. And not just Brazil I said the top 4 would beat Real.

Can’t remember his name but a Reading striker scored a really good goal for Wales last tournament.

Guy I play football with said teams should be lining up. They weren’t and rightly so.

Players aren’t as unknown as they once were. We need a bigger sample to scout a player than a World Cup.

hard to find quality in a Iran v Morocco match, because most League 1 teams would of given them both a better match. you only find a bargain if when either of those teams play Spain and have a standout performance

Based on the stuff coming out about the possible signing of Wilmar Barrios, I'm now a lot more interested in the Colombian games than I otherwise would've been!
