Did any of ye watch the fight last night? Great scrap, and well done to Calzaghe for beating the best challenger they could have gotten for him, he handed out a boxing lesson in places. Had €50 on the fight and was bricking it in places cause Kessler's right hand was the great leveller, but Joe took every big punch that Kessler threw at him.

Didn't watch the fight unfortunately. Still trying to find highlights. Had to laugh when I read that Kessler was two ounces over at the weigh in. He only just managed 12 stone, once he'd stripped naked.

Fantastic fight. Calzaghe was a machine. He just rained down punch after punch. He threw 1000+ punches to Kessler's 500+ punches. We knew Calzaghe would have to maneuver his way around Kessler's rock-hard punches, but he just let it all hang out. Even in the last couple of rounds when he had the fight pretty much sewn up. With that performance, he certainly cemented himself as one of the best pound for pound boxers in the world. Probably top 3.

Just an amazing example of a fight. One of the best all-European bouts ever, if not the best. What a special, special boxer Calzaghe is. He also called out Hopkins after the fight (again). Gotta think it's gonna happen now after that fight. Can't wait.

Spot on mate. Hopefully Hatton can do a job on Mayweather in December, dunno if I have the stones to stick big money on it though cause Mayweather is number 1 on that pound for pound list you mentioned above imo.

Cocky bastard the American but I don't mind that if he can back it up, which he can.

What a year for boxing it's been. And we still have Cotto v Mosley and Mayweather v Hatton to come.

Yeah, Mayweather is the number 1 pound for pound fighter in the world in just about everyones eyes. Hatton's gonna have to have the fight of his life and then some, to win.

I think Hatton v Mayweather is a 50-50. It certainly won't be a repeat of Mayweather-Gatti.

No, it certainly won't be another one of those. Hatton's too good for that to happen.

One thing is for sure, Pretty Boy is going to have to work harder and faster than he has ever had to before.

Mayweather has the speed and agility to outbox Hatton, but he'll have to do it for the full 36 minutes, because I can't see him flooring Hatton. RH has got the endurance to keep pressurising FM, and much has been made about his body shots, but I think the main obstacle for Mayweather, will be that Hatton is a difficult man to box against. Hatton will aim to cut off the ring and if Mayweather constantly lies on the ropes then he'll find that Ricky can pack a punch.

Well, the good thing about Hatton is that he's an 'inside marauder'. He gets right up in your face, sticks to you like glue. So yeah, that should ask some questions of PBF. If Hatton can disrupt PBF's game anything like Calzaghe can disrupt a solid opponent's game, he should do well. That's a tough ask though against the best pound for pound boxer in the world. I think Hatton's best chance is to stick in close as possible and rain in body shots constantly (and i mean just rain them in there) for 12 rounds. I think it will come down to the old adage, punches thrown means more than punches landed. Not only will constant body shots keep PBF off his game somewhat (hopefully), but it will weigh favourably in the eyes of the judges.

Old Joe doesn't get the credit he deserves, that was another top notch performance against a tough opponent. Joe got hit with some big shots (it is boxing afterall) but took them all. A true champ he is.

The Cotto-Mosley fight was an absolute cracker, just going toe to toe for 12 rounds. Fantastic ruck by both fighters.
