Canizares and Albelda up for grabs

Koeman, the new Valencia coach has fell out with both big time and he is not playing them in this week Spanish Cup. He said somthing like in times of big problems big solutions must be taken. It is rumoured that they are going to leave Valencia in the next transfer window.
Canizares is 38 but he is still agile, and very importantly, a commanding goalkeeper who reads the game very well, very similar to Palop at Sevilla.
Albelda curiously enough, is a very similar player to Poulsen too: decent passer of the ball, a nasty piece of work and reads (defensively) the game extremely well. He is not the player Benitez had, but he is still good enough to get a place in the Spanish NT, and maybe with Juande's coaching and fitness regime may be back to his best.
I think both would make Spurs defense more solid.

Palop was back up to Canizares a few years back. To be honest, I think the form Robinson has shown under Ramos is enough to keep him between the sticks for me. Even if we were to replace Robbo, doing so with a 37 year old makes little sense both footballing or business wise.

Albelda I must admit I don't know much about, other than the fact he's been around as long as I can remember (although he's only 30). I say we appease SS57 by signing both him and Mendieta on the cheap, and having an old skool Valencia midfield :-D

I think Mendieta has retired. Once he left Valencia for Lazio he was not longer the same player.

There were reports last week that he was retiring, but he is denying them. He hasn't coped well with the physicality of Serie A and the Premiership, and if he can't get into Boro's team I am not sure I want him. Albelda I'll take, though.

I'd take Albelda for sure, he's a talented, solid experienced high-class player. Better than Zokora and is a true leader. Fuck off to Canazires though unless he fancies coaching Robbo a goalie who is regaining form and if he plays like he did a few seasons ago is up their with the very very best in the world!
Doubt we'd get either though and Albelda's wages would be fairly high. Would like him though, would offer far more than Zokora.

I would love for us to sign Albelda and although Canzares is cracking on, I think it will be a good signing and invaluable experience for our goalkeepers to have.

Apparently, he fell out with Borat (or Borat fell out with him) and he's been frozen out ever since. This is from Bill, whose boss is a Boro nut.

I'll leave it up to Juande to decide if he's the kind of player we need. But if we do require a creative midfielder at a bargain-basement price, we could do worse.

Well, this is a very nice buck. And thanks for passing it to me, but...

Well, it wasn't just from you, Bill. I just thought I'd spread the blame, that's all. But I do have a vague recollection that Mendieta was very good indeed in his first season with Boro.

I'm not sure that he's the answer to a maiden's prayer, but he is a quality, experienced midfielder who could be available for peanuts.

 No worries, mate. You're absolutely right. That's exactly what my gaffer said. I was just busting your chops.

Hasn't Albeda been a pain in the ass? I could be wrong, but I seem to remember him being a stitch in more than one managers side.
