What difference does it make to Tottenham if Arsenal win a trophy as opposed to Man City for example?

The only thing that people are scared of is bragging rights and a bit of banter from Arsenal fans but so what, as nice is it to continue winning trophies and it proves a great day out for your fans, the progression of your club is the most important thing and the trophies that they want to be competing for and winning aren't the domestic cups, what has it done for them?

Well...ye. It's petty bullshit, it's part of the fun about supporting a football club. I don't want them winning anything, not one single game (maybe a West Ham one ).

How do Arsenal benefit from a Carabao cup trophy? They win the FA cup year after year and still lose their best players. The fans are in turmoil and want the manager out. It's not helping them keep their players or keeping the fans happy.

I don't care about how it progresses them. I don't want them winning anything. Honestly can't belive why this is a thing. It's not like I'm crying about how much of an amazing time they're having compared to us. I just don't want them to win anything. If they do then fine, I won't be hiding myself away or cutting my wrists.

Of course. I look at it long term though. I want to be a bigger club than them so I want us to collect more trophies than them.

But Riggz, trophies that are not either the PL or CL are literally worthless, and as a fan who has seen us win a massive 2 whole pots (both League Cups) in my 22 years of following Spurs I feel that it's absolutely no achievement for us or any other club to win the Carabao or FA Cups. Beneath me. :barefoot:

Well, obviously sarcasm, duh.

Not even sure I want to be the biggest club in London anymore tbh. The state of Chelsea and arsenal (fans, match day experience) totally puts me off. Fuck even Wembley is making me nervous about the new stadium.

Not in terms of our season. But we've been a better side than them for the past three to four years and in that time they still finished above us twice and have won three, possibly four trophies. Yet their fans act like they're washed up and we all act like we've just won the league, when really our only achievement over them has been one top four finish and being in the CL this year. That's why it continues to amaze me that they slag off Wenger.

No turning back now sadly. The new stadium is necessary if we want to truly be competing at the top. But ever since building started I have been saying to my fan friends that they better be prepared for us to pick up lots of plastic fans and glory hunters. Hell, the two title challenges have already seen hints of it.

It's a regrettably a consequence, but if it helps us to win trophies I can suffer it. I know I am not a plastic, and that's good enough for me at the moment.

Then perhaps we haven't been a better side than them.
In terms of form we absolutely have. In terms of mentality perhaps not. Their constant top four finishes (before last year) and ability to squeak through the cups so often suggests that they have the mentality (or Wenger has the ability to give them the mentality) to raise their game when needed.
