Technical glitch, it's 8 balls put into a pot and taken out one by one, not exactly the most difficult or technical thing to do

but then again, this is the EFL
They could always go back to the old system of using small wooden (?) balls and a bag, with one person drawing out the home teams and another person the away teams. The simpler it is, the less can go wrong.

The year it’s drawn in China and we are faced with a semi final line up that includes United, City, Chelsea and Arsenal...

Not even attempting to make it look genuine

United will be coming to my neck of the woods, down the road v Bristol City.

Going to be a lot of excited locals looking forward to seeing their team play Bristol City.

Presumably the glitch was as long as it took to complete the draw with the Manchester clubs, Chelsea and Arsenal all avoiding each other.

Can't get a more obvious example of a hot and cold ball draw. Four hot, four cold, make sure all pairings are one of each.

Fixing the draw follows on nicely from selling the naming rights to a company who then schedule the draw for overseas viewers and then make a mistake by drawing Charlton twice. Trophies are cool, losing when 2-0 up and going out is really not, but it's a crap competition from start to finish.

People get their knickers in a twist gleefully deriding anyone who even hints at any kind of corruption in football as tin foil-hatted conspiracy nutjobs, but there has never been a cup draw environment more rife for fiddling than one that isn't shown live and is eventually released nearly two hours later on Twitter.

Maybe they should introduce seeding for the Sky clubs. At least that way the organisers would be honest about their intentions.

More games for them though if they all get through to the semis so not exactly bad. As long as West Ham beat Arsenal.

Hypothetical scenario:

What team would we have played tonight if we had beaten West Ham, bearing in mind we're going away to the Emirates in a NLD and needing a win on Saturday against Burnley to keep up with the top four chase?

Arsenal would underplay the importance of wanting to win this game but I reckon the truth be known they are in it for the money with silverware a bonus.

Arsenal win for me.

I would like to think for pride and pride alone that we would have put out a very strong side to start then dabble with subs as necessary.

Our Burnley game is Saturday .. Goons play Pool on Friday night.

Got a feeling it's gonna be a 93rd minute winner for Arse. As usual.
