Lyall says he is on the list of strikers we are interested in- he also mentions Benteke, Austin and Werner (my favourite).

He has a £21.5m release clause, so this is unlikely, but he still seems very good from what I've seen (and he has pace).

It's a difficult one for our transfer team. We could either go for someone like Bacca, who is experiences, or someone like Benteke or Austin, who have PL experience, or a high-potential like Werner (and Martial, but obviously that one is over) who is young but not very experienced/prolific.

After being stung big style on Soldado, I can't possibly see why our board would sanction a big money move for Bacca which flies directly in the face of our transfer policy.

They'll want the full release clause.

Levy won't pay that, especially due to his age so this is a non starter.

He is suited to this league but I'd look elsewhere.

The worrying thing, if true, is that list is all over the place. No identified style of player we want. to fill a certain role in the team/squad.

Isn't he 28/29? and didn't Liverpool sign Firmino because they said the deal was too complicated? If money bags pool can't get the deal done then we certainly won't... and besides, Sevilla hate us after the Fazio fiasco.

Firmino doesn't really play in the same position, and apparently they are still looking for an out-and-out striker, including Benteke or Bacca. It doesn't matter what Sevilla think because if a team matches the release clause, they are powerless.

Except they actually are, as they are not binding when triggered by a team outside of Spain. We would have to pay the release plus tax on top.

The problem is who does the release clause relate to... domestic or foreign as we've come across this scenario before were a foreign club had to pay more. Also, isn't there tax implications re paying a Spanish release clause?

Add him to the list including Benteke and Bony of players who did well in an inferior league and we didn't take a chance on?

No use waiting until they do well in a top league and get expensive. Isn't this why we have scouts?

He has the attributes to succeed in this League though, chalk and cheese in terms of comparing their playing styles.

But ultimately i can't see Levy parting with that much money for a 29 year old.

We haven't had scouts for a few years though up until now
