The news in Italy is that Tevez is most likely to return to Boca, and his agent is trying to strike a deal between them and Juve. It's what he's always wanted to do so I'm sure it'll happen, but I wasn't sure it'd happen now. He's still as fit as ever and not at a point where age is slowing him down. He's got a couple of years left in him for top flight football I reckon so it'd be a shame to see him go back to Argentina now. I thought he'd go back when he's about 34/35.

For the record, having seen what he does for Juve week in/week out, I fervently believe he'd be phenomenal for us. It'd be like a VDV signing, a top player with that touch of class that can help push the team on for better things. He's an experienced winner, and we lack both experience and winners in our first XI. Him and Kane would be an amazing partnership. Alas, I highly doubt it'd ever happen.

  1. Alright mate, although we'd all love it- can you put the Tevez to Spurs rumours to bed so we can move on? Would be amazing though

Its almost as If the people on SC with at least half a brain cell already knew this was the case and never even considered it. Not even factoring in the point that we've been linked with him for the past 3 seasons and its always the same issue - wages.

People are having far too much common sense by focusing on wages... What if he wants Saturday's off???

We could be his perfect club :ROFLMAO:

His salary at Juve is reported to be 90k per week for 3 yrs. I think we can match if it is for 2 yrs.... Tevez is no Adebayor. He and Kane will run oppies defense to the ground....

There might be a chance if Poch wants him....

@tancredipalmeri: Tevez has communicated to Juventus that he is leaving. Boca Juniors most likely to be next destination

Now I know we are not signing Teves, but I disagree that his wages would be an issue. Juve are paying him £4.6m a year. Around £90k a week.

Isn't that what we pay Ade? There are many reasons why we wouldn't sign him but with the new TV deal, I don't think wages would be one of them.

Yup too bad we still got Ade on the cheque book else it would be worth considering. Italian news are reporting Boca are fav to land him, just wonder how much he is willing to accept.

Wages don't matter. He set his mind on returning to Boca. I've known this since January. He won't even get half the wages he gets right now, and I though boca was going to pay Juve 8m, but it looks like Juve are letting him go because he asked to be released to boca. They are realeasing him of his contract only to boca, there's no chances for any other club.

Hope that puts this to bed

It's a shame it won't happen as Tevez would be exactly the kind of statement we need to make.

No one takes us seriously at the moment, in the eyes of all the pundits, press and other top teams we are back to a mid table team. Maybe that's a bit harsh but honestly (5th-10th) at best. There is no mention of us breaking the top 4 or winning anything anymore that's for sure! Liverpool seem to be above us again.

Making some big signings would make a massive difference to our chances and get us back up there again. Obviously keeping Kane and Lloris as well goes without saying! If we could add Tevez and Schiederlin to our team with some good young talent like Marshal all of a sudden we are a threat. Plus our players see we have some ambition!

I know there is a new stadium on the cards and I appreciate how well ENIC run the club financially. Just feels like 1 step forward 2 steps back all the time on the pitch. Of the players we are linked with Kramer looks excellent in the German league, Wimmer could be top draw when he settles and Trippier is good business but they aren't going to make anyone sit up and take notice.

In short I really would have loved Tevez! Can you imagine him and Kane!

Even with TV money wages are still utterly crucial to this club.

Carlos Tevez to join to Boca Juniors on a free in next few days then. Juve would have demanded a fee from a European club (via @DavidAmoyal)

Juve director Marotta on Tevez:"We told him we're willing to let him go back home (to Boca Juniors) for free, but not other European clubs"

Wow, lucky Boca. Free and less wages. Tevez is going to a real hero at Boca..

Sometimes the optimistic rating just doesn't cut it! He is one of my favourite players in the world but it's just never going to happen in a million years - don't do it to yourselves!
