Celta Vigo have confirmed their interest in Tottenham striker Mido, but admit there are complications.

    Source: Sky Sports.

The Egyptian has had to compete with Dimitar Berbatov, Robbie Keane and Jermain Defoe for a starting role at White Hart Lane this season.

Celta Vigo would like to persuade Mido to part with Spurs and return to the Estadio Balaidos, where he spent time on loan in 2003.

However, director of sport Felix Sheep believes Celta may not even be able to afford Mido, and also that there may already be enough strikers at the club.

"It is very difficult. We do not have space for him," said Sheep.
"It would also be very complicated to pay an elevated amount of money.

"Possibly he wants to come to Vigo, where he has played, but right now he cannot come because we do not have space."

Playmaker Nene has been linked with a move away from Spain and Sheep admits Celta could be willing to do a trade with Tottenham.

"If they offered €10million (£6.6million) we would have to make a decision," he explained.

"If one player goes away, we will look in the market for someone to replace him."

Meanwhile, Sheep has dismissed any chance of Celta signing Lyon striker John Carew, with Werder Bremen believed to be closing in on the Norwegian. "He has two other options. One is in England and one is in Germany. Probably he will finish in Germany."

Felix Sheep is a superb name. Sounds like a cartoon character.
  2. billnick
That's surpassed Neville Neville as my second favourite football-related name. Nothing yet however beats Wolfgang Wolf, ex-Wolfsburg manager...

    The next wales manager?

  5. YIDBOY
Adios you big lump. Sorry but your attitude aint right and your lazy!

    Darren Bent as replacement please.
  6. happydays
More constructive crticism of Mido and his buddy Ghaly. I think Ghaly has done OK for us this season. And he looked OK when he came on against Cardiff last night.

Just a shame for Mido he is 2nd choice behind Berb's or else he may have had a chance to shine.

agree, cant be` arsed with mido.

    not good enough.

so long son, ain't gonna miss you at all.

    now bring back kanoute!!

Sorry to see this happening. Mido's great player, but competing with Berbatov is ovbiously not easy!

I reckon we'll sign Carlton Cole as Mido's cheap replacement...

    Cheers Mido!

You dont have to buy him, knock us 2 mil off Nene or just take him, please.

Move Barny into 4th place to continue his development and replace Keano with Bent, sorry Keano and his fans but he'll never be prolific.

Barnard can probably cope with the 4th striker position by now ide say.

This Mido and Ghaly hate club is really gettn on my nerves, When has Mido come out and complained to the press? When
  12. Kingstheman
Ghaly gets a lot of unfair stick in my opinion.

Mido, obviously has a reputation and had the problem during the last ANC and came back unfit and injured, so I can understand the abuse a bit more - but I still think Mido is ok for Tottenham - obviously there is better around and I like Lee Barnard...
  13. dirtydave
so if he doesnt go and scores a hatrick next game will you hate-mongers suddenly start saying you've always rated mido and what a great cheap buy he was?

mido shows passion and a great desire to be involved i for one appreciate that. he could have gone to blackburn but wanted to come back to us instead. loyalty isnt common in football these days look at lucas neill.

Sorry not finished, Mido is injured, if you think Bent or Carlton Cole will come to Spurs to be 4th choice striker and keep quiet about it like Mido has then you dont understand professional footballers, I agree that Mido is no where near the class of Berbatov, but how could you all have forgotten his contribution to getting a UEFA place last season and you also forget his age. As for Ghaly, he has been the ultimate professional, played at Right Wing,Right Back and even Center Back, had his teeth knocked out and come back for more and yet he also hasnt uttered a word of resentment or negativity. The truth may be that both Ghaly and Mido do not have the class for a top 4 team (which we are not) but they are certainly good enough to be squad players. If they go I wont cry about it but they deserve a little respect!

Leave Ghaly alone, i've seen players far worse playing in a spurs shirt, ie samways, austin, nethercott etc, Ghaly has a lot to offer the team, he's like zokora, just needs time to adapt to the pace of premiership football.
A mate of mine once told me when bergkamp was struggling, he could hear shouts of what a waste of money from fans who ten years later would be worshippning him like a demi god..just give the guy a cahnce
  16. st@rbug
very well said bruv ! i have not heard 1 single complaint from Mido about being 4th choice, he shud stay and work hard for his place like the true pro he is. Ghaly works hard, cant fault him for effort, with regards to being good enuff for us id have to say no. And btw there was nothing wrong with samways!! fool!!
  17. StokeSpur
he wont because he's not that good, i dont hate these players i just dont want them at the club i love because there not good enough, i want players who will do well for the club and take us to the next level, Mido wont, and neither will the likes of Tianio, Murphy or Ghaly.

Hand on heart, do any of you think those 4 players mentioned would get in any of the top 8 sides?

Theres your answer then. Some people are 'i'll support anything Spurs do' because i'm a fan, others look at the bigger picture.
