Agree, apart from I think you're really underselling Pjanic and seriously disrespecting Khedira, he's a world cup winner, like a better version of Gerrard. I'd just change Pjanic for Matuidi in your combined starting XI.

A better version of Gerrard!!, you can't be fucking serious lol

That guy does not score goals like the rate Gerrard did, and does not grab a game by the scruff, with such a significant influence, as regularly as Gerrard did. Absolutely bizarre statement.

Think we could beat Liverpool and Chelsea, but not the other 2 Manchester clubs.
We should have got something out of United the other week and City haven't had it all their own way the past 3 or 4 weeks.

2 legged knock out anything can happen.

Liverpool so Jsmmy
Dybala could in theory slot in ahead of Dele but he’s similarly frustrating to be honest. Great flair to him though. I’d have a Son in ahead of any inside forwards they have though, and up front Kane pisses all over Higuaín and Mandzukic.

Argument to be made for Matuidi but I prefer the all action of a fully fit Wanyama, while for me Pjanic wouldn’t get in ahead of a top form Dembele or Eriksen. Maybe Winks at this point. Marchisio in his pomp would get in but he’s a little on the decline and is not a first choice anymore. Khedira I’ve never understood the hype, German Jordan Henderson.

Defence, Alex Sandro is probably a better left back than we have, I’d say there’s little between Vertonghen and Chiellini, Alderweireld is a a shoe in to play in either side as RCB, an I’ve never overly rated Lichtsteiner. Much as I love Hugo, Buffon is still head and shoulders the best goalie around, best of all time in my opinion.

I think a fair combined xi would be:

Buffon
Trippier Alderweireld Chiellini Sandro
Wanyama Matuidi
Dybala Eriksen Son
Kane

Who would have thought there would come a point where a combined Spurs/Juventus line up would have Trippier at RB. What a time to be alive.

Brilliant draw. The draw I wanted of the available options. Can't remember us ever playing Juve in serious competition and somewhere I've been wanting to go for a long time. Tough game, but this is what the CL is all about for us. We probably aren't going to win the fucking thing so it's about playing the Madrid's and Juve's, the type of games I jealously used to watch the other PL clubs play every year.

So it seems from here and twitter Sandro and pjanic are the only shoe in to our team.3 or 4 are debatable dybala matuidi etc. The general feeling I’m getting is we have a very slight edge but it’s in the balance. Toby Sanchez jan are the key for me if they excelled we could go a long way as I feel over 2 legs Kane and Son will nick us 2 or 3 goals.

It's about the team, not the individuals.

Its a form thing at this point in the competition. Any side has the capacity to nick a win over two legs in the CL. The domestic league starts to impact performances and the winter injury toll takes some of your better players out. All the clubs are going to face this over Xmas. A lot will depend on these circumstances and who is flying in January from a form and momentum perspective.

I think how we approach this will depend very much on domestic form and if we can come on strong over Xmas and New Year. We are carrying a few more injuries then normal this season and if we can get these players fit including Kane who is carrying a knock, Wanyama, Toby etc then I fancy us as a team against Juve. Plus Eriksen, Dele etc are having the collywobbles at the moment. They are sure to come good. Its important we carry good positive momentum into Jan and early Feb. If we do that, I think we can beat anyone. Poch's famed training methods will make the difference as we are always stronger in the second half of the season. Quietly confident at this point.

Yeah Dybala looks on fire this season 12 in 16 games already 1 more than last season. He probably is the key to keeping them quiet.

This is a very tough draw but one we should relish, one that will get the boys uo for it. No complacency and we have a chance!! So excited for this one, flights booked so just waiting on tickets now. Fingers crossed

I’ve watched a lot of Juventus games in my life because my older brother is a Juventus fan. I’m shocked at how many people (not only Spurs fans) are underestimating Juventus, yes they’re not as good as last season but are still a top team. We should of course be confident that we can go through but we cannot underestimate them.
There will be a lot of talks about Dybala but for me Mandzukic will be their key player. Not only does he work hard but he’s soooo dangerous when it comes to crosses. He will always lurk at the back post and if we have Trippier we will have problems, Mandzukic scores and creates his chances by waiting in the back post for crossses.
Also they play a 4-2-3-1 in the CL. Benatia who I’ve criticised before has been their best CB imo. Cuadrado and Douglas Costa on the wings will be dangerous. Poch shouldn’t start Alli in these games, Son or Lamela or both should start instead. Juventus midfield will most likely be Khedira, Pjanic and Matuidi and Alli would be physically dominated and they will choke the spaces in midfield. Mousa Dembele or Winks will be Key for us, we need a player that is comfortable on the ball in midfield and that can retain possession while also being able to take on his man

I think we will go through but it will be very hard, a away goal in the first game will be crucial

Juventus record at home is unbelievable with so many cleansheets. For us to have a chance of going through, we got to score away from home.

These are the tests we need if we re going to advance as a club. It took Fergie six or seven seasons before he had Manure on the up and up and winning the PL. We are half way through that journey. Poch is improving us every season.
