Can't help but feel the draw is rigged tbh. All the British teams that sell lots of tickets end up with much easier groups than we got but that is due to their history in CL. Should be based solely on where they finished in the league.

Are you just gonna ignore the group we were in last year?

Silver lining and all. At least this year we won't have to see a Mason-Carroll midfield partnership away to Dortmund.

Great draw! We're actually improving year by year, and getting PL experience along the way under a great coach. Playing Real at "home" at Wembley! Love it!
Get our full backs sorted, and we're a tough proposition for anyone!

When we lose to Madrid I guarantee some idiot will blame Poch and come out with the usual 'they weee there for the taking' line :D

One should never be afraid or daunted when confronted by the very best there is in a particular sport. Your opponent can then be used as the measuring stick to show where you truly stand in the current rankings. To approach these matches with trepidation and fear would indicate a lack of inner confidence...one should always look forward to such battles, treating your adversary with the respect and caution they deserve, but demanding,by your performance, that they do likewise.

There should be no motivational skills required by Poch to have his team ready to play the likes of Real Madrid. Every single player should now be busting their balls in an attempt to be selected for the CPL matches that lie ahead. True professionals do not shirk from such challenges, they embrace them.

These are the games you should dream of being involved in, this is the reward (yes reward !) for all that effort last season in obtaining a top four place and qualification. We could of had an easier group and subsequently more of a chance of making it through to the knockout stages...but we didn't ...so we accept and deal with the challenges ahead.

The thought of going to Wembley to see the team I support play Real Madrid, not in a friendly, but in Europe's top competition is both exciting and inspiring. This is where Tottenham dream to be on a regular basis, competing against the best because they also belong in such auspicious company.
So let's approach these games with a united and positive attitude, from the manager, the players and the supporters. The world will be watching...let's show it just how far we have come and do this famous club proud.

Harry Kane said...
“It’s a great draw,” “You expect to play the best in Europe in the Champions League and it’s exciting for us. We look forward to these games.“You want to test yourself against the best and Real Madrid are the best at the moment.”

That's exactly the approach needed....bring it on !

You're either in the Champions league to win it, or to have fun.... and let's face it, we're not quite champions of Europe material yet - Bring on the big games, bring on the fun trips, bring on Winks nutmegging Ronaldo three times in a row, Bring on a Sissoko hat-trick at the Bernabeu..

Question if anyone can help? A relative abroad has asked if I can get him tickets for game away at Apoel in Cyprus. I should have enough loyalty points. Do they check tickets against names for away European games or will he be ok if i just send them to him?

I genuinely cannot understand the negativity around our drawer. The players always say we want to play against the best in the best competition and it looks like this is what we have. They will be rubbing their hands at the opportunity to put themselves against Real and Dortmund and I think our performances may even surprise a few.

I remember when we were set to play against the Inter team that conquered Europe the previous season. I'm inclined to say we ripped them a new one even though we lost one of the games and that was the platform the visibility of our club has stood upon in recent times. The match against Inter was when everyone in Europe sat up and knew who we were again.
This is again another chance to raise the bar. Imagine, we go to a weakened Dortmund, who look like losing Dembele and have Schurrle and Reus out injured for an unidentified period of time, and we give them a proper hiding the way we have started to or we go to Real and press and squeeze the life out of them the way Barca used to, we could very well come away with victories and more importantly glory.

Who the hell wants to play against Benfics and risk losing and looking like mugs. At least if we lose, we've lost to bigger clubs on the European stage.

Very excited about our group, but that schedule is extremely tough. We cannot afford not to bring in reinforcements now.
As long as we strengthen the squad in the next week we can definitely qualify from that group and still challenge at the top of the league. The pessimist fan in me is saying we'll leave ourselves short. Time will tell.

I think you would be excused for thinking that. It wouldn't be the first time we have.
