Because you're straw-manning my narrative. I've said they're an excellent team but you agreed with me that it takes a certain amount of luck to win. In the past two seasons they've had the breaks largely go their way. Another team with equal quality with the breaks going in their favor could have done the same thing. Real Madrid isn't a team that is heads and shoulders above everyone else. Their strong mentality helps them but so has good fortune in the last few seasons which is why they're in a position to win 3 in a row. I don't get how that's controversial?
You mean another team with the all round talent of RM, the experience of RM, in so many ways like coming back after they've been scored against in key games. Another team that are clinical when they're motivated? What is that team?

They're not head and shoulders above the top teams, but they've proven they have an edge.

lol How can I straw man your narrative when this is what you said to kick off the debate?

I'm sick of seeing these fucks luck their way through every round and win the Champions league year after year.

This is what I'm and seemingly the people who are telling you are wrong are reacting to, your narrative is about how lucky Real are is it not?, that isn't a straw man that is literally what you said.

Now that you've been challenged you have moved the goalposts of your argument to this:

I've said they're an excellent team but you agreed with me that it takes a certain amount of luck to win

Hmmm :cautious:

You initially didn't acknowledge that Real were quality and were all to happy to put it down to luck...regardless this is more or less my angle: what I'm saying is you there is an element of luck in all knock out comps agreed but you still need the willpower, experience and mentality to win and the chances are if one team has these overwhelming factors than the other teams than more often than not those factors will be key.

I take your point that 1 season 2015/16 they were fortunate to be handed an easy draw on paper (you can only really beat what's in front of you) however for one putting that campaign solely down to luck is totally dismissing those factors and judging by your initial post you're all too happy to dismiss them, putting three campaigns down to pure and utter luck is just nonsense.

All you're doing is reaching to form a tired narrative, I've heard this lucky thing before (mainly from people that don't like Real Madrid funnily enough) but when you really break it down luck will only get you so far and if a team is on the verge of winning their 3rd CL in a row than that suggests that it's more skill than luck involved.

Think it's more a case of a great team taking advantage of key moments. Which team does anyone want to avoid in a CL KO draw? And they don't want to avoid them 'cause they're lucky!

We need Madrid to get there. Don’t want Munich else they’ll only bottle it again like they did against Chelsea.

You've just got to know how to set up against them. It's the reason Liverpool aren't top of the league despite their attack.
Many teams have nullified their attack

I'm not so sure about that. Bayern are used to Klopp and his tactics and lots of teams press & run in the Bundesliga. I think Liverpool will have trouble with either of them.

Watching this makes me think it would be better if Bayern went through. The main thing that's let them down up until now and including the first leg is their finishing. They look more competent than Madrid.

Modric is one of the reasons Real are not losing. The way he’s helped Lucas Vazquez on the right side against Alaba and Ribery has been crucial

I reckon the way Bayern play will be more effective at stopping Liverpool than Madrid's. Heynckes also has far more tactical nous than Zidane so I trust him more to find a way to deal with Salah. If Madrid/Zidane do their usual thing Marcelo is going to get killed by Salah
