They’ve enjoyed an unbelievable amount of good fortune in this tournament. Sometimes a teams name is just on the trophy.

Be crazy if they did. Been a while since a team has won the champions league who we are actually better than!
If they win the CL they will have had to play someone world class even if it's in the final, and they demolished City who are a good team. They are also above us in the league. I don't see how we can say we are better then them, the same level maybe, but not better. I absolutly hate Liverpool but the gap between us and them is not what it was years ago. We might have a better foundation and back room ethos but any sport is about winning and they are doing it. Winning the CL is an incredible feat regardless of how it's done and if the situations were reversed I'm pretty sure we would all be bouncing of the walls regardless of how we got there. Personaly I still think we can finish above them and if we make the right moves over sumner, move ahead again maybe, but this gap between them and us doesn't seem to be there anymore at the moment.

Fair play to Liverpool. I fucking hate them and their fans but i thought they'd go out over 2 legs to City.

Yeah you have to say. Blew City away in the first leg in a fashion that no other team has managed this season and did more than just do enough in the 2nd leg, they even won that too. It was a strange build up to the 2nd leg too, not sure I've seen a team being given so much of a chance despite being 3-0 down from the first leg.

You know that Liverpool will play Roma in the semifinals. They’ll literally get all the way to the final having played only one good team.

It might be way too late for City to bottle the title, but out of the cup to Wigan, thrashed by Liverpool in Europe, and limping towards the league is hardly an ideal second half to the season for them and can't do their odds of defending it next year any favours.

Daniele Di Rossi top of the passing stats and second top for distance run for Roma and he's 34, looks like a man on a mission to me, love to see him lift the cup.

All of a sudden City's all conquering bestest team to ever football looks nothing special. They'll win the league but so did Pep's predecessors. It's an anti-climax now.

His rep will take a big hit if Heynckes wins the UCL too. Which I hope he does as can't have Liverpool do the unthinkable, but this Madrid doing three in a row would be a joke.

And as tempting as it is to look back ourselves at what could have been in the Champions League this season, we have to keep perspective. Nobody tends to do very well when the squad has no experience at that level. It took City several years just to get out of the Group Stage. We embarrassed ourselves last year, this was a massive improvement but we were always unlikely to have the nous to go all the way just yet. Equally, I'd be quite surprised if this Liverpool team did so. Our time will come.

It makes me sick to say it, but after the whole Juve and their 'experience' thing.. the scousers have showed that as a club they can still do it on the big occasion.. even when it's being scum and trashing the opposition's bus, it worked an absolute treat. I mean Djimi Traore won a CL with them, so they've shown anything is possible. City by comparison, they're not a big club and despite all that money they simply don't have that culture ingrained in the club. Will they ever get there, who knows..

I agree with what you are saying but I do think we have to take into consideration that as a KO tournament it's very hard to say we aren't better than them (I know that's not what you are saying), our run was much tougher than Liverpool's and we won some huge games but fell down to a very wily and experienced team, Liverpool haven't faced a team like that. In fact I'd go far to say that Liverpool have had some great match ups, either teams who are nothing or teams who leave spaces all over for them to exploit. On reflection City were a great match for Liverpool due to the openness they play with. I think if Liverpool had a Madrid or Juventus then they may have gone out already.

With Barca gone I think Liverpool are the best team in it.

Real Madrid are still quality, but Liverpool can get at their defence. Bayern are the strongest left though, but unfortunately, not comfortably so. Liverpool have a very decent chance

Pellegrini won the league at the first time of asking (and the League Cup), unlike Pep who has had a year and countless millions to get to the same result (unless....) but certain people on here were very disparaging of that achievement compared to Pep's wonder team.

Poop Fraudiola amirite? :p

Personally think Coutinho is mad to move himself at this stage of the season. He can't play Champions league football for Barca. If they win the CL or even if Liverpool do the unimaginable and go all the way he will have missed out on a medal. Sure he'll get the La Liga medal but it's a bit odd to miss CL football for the rest of the season.

I told you all that Coutinho was mental.
