You ship 8 goals in losing 3 games on the spin.

Lifting the PL trophy is put on hold and you are dumped out of the Champions League ....

I just hope Tottenham ain't the cure to their ills.

That's the old Tottenham psyche, get out of here with that negative shit!

If they win the CL they will have had to play someone world class even if it's in the final, and they demolished City who are a good team. They are also above us in the league. I don't see how we can say we are better then them, the same level maybe, but not better. I absolutly hate Liverpool but the gap between us and them is not what it was years ago. We might have a better foundation and back room ethos but any sport is about winning and they are doing it. Winning the CL is an incredible feat regardless of how it's done and if the situations were reversed I'm pretty sure we would all be bouncing of the walls regardless of how we got there. Personaly I still think we can finish above them and if we make the right moves over sumner, move ahead again maybe, but this gap between them and us doesn't seem to be there anymore at the moment.

They have been arsehole lucky, even against City, during this run. Fair play to them, can only beat who you get drawn against. The fact they’ve been drawn against dross until City, then enjoyed the run of the ball and some huge mistakes by the officials in both legs ( City could have been ahead on away goals at half time tonight if City had not had perfectly good goals disallowed ) has contributed hugely.

Of course we’d be bouncing off the walls if it was us! I don’t hate Liverpool I hate their deluded fans and the hype that surrounds the club. Their manager is also a complete tool.

Regarding who’s better? Level on points or even finishing behind them this season, we’ve been at Wembley all season. That’s cost us plenty of points. How do we think they’d have got on there all season? Head to head we’ve dominated them over 3 of the 4 halves we’ve played and smashed them 4-1 at Wembley and should have won the 2-2 draw at their place.

Take Salah and to a lesser extent, Firmino out of their side and they would struggle to finish top 6.

Wow... What a night of football....

What a win by Roma.... And what a joke by Barcelona going 442 and playing defensive.

Just shows though with some decent form ok draw and a bit of luck that could easily be us in semis. Next season I will go into this competition thinking we have as good a chance as anyone the way things currently stand. Winning the CL no longer feels like a far fetched dream.

Yep! I think Dr Tottenham will probably make an appearance Saturday night!

I must add, in light of the shite refereeing decisions that have gone against City in the last two games, expect a shit storm of horrendous decisions going against us!!

Rio Ferdinand on Alexander Arnold: "The England right back Walker was out there. If you didn't know who they were and came to watch a game of football, who looks better? It has to be Trent."

I'd agree, though that doesn't mean that I think that ATA is God's gift to football. I genuinely believe that Kyle Walker is the embodiment of the Peter Principle - i.e. he's risen to his "level of incompetence", demonstrating that good performances for Spurs don't guarantee similar performances for another team.

On selfish note, I hope some of the other "wantaway" Spurs players have the self-awareness to have seen this and now appreciate the downside of leaving a successful squad.

Virgil van Dijk's last 11 games for Liverpool:

8 wins, 6 clean sheets, 7 conceded.

Ferdinand: "Everything you'd want in a centre-half that cost that money."

He has a decent signing been for Liverpool, 75m looks like a bargain now.

I'm in Barcelona right now. My visit to Camp Nou today seems to have put the kybosh on their CL hopes much as my appearances at Wembley did for Spurs. It's pretty quiet out there and absolutely pissing it down with rain.

I'm getting deja vu from 2012 and Chelsea winning it against all the odds.

Yeah have a bad feeling too, but that was a far worse scenario. However much I dislike Liverpool, Chelsea are another level.

Plus it directly affected us then in a huge way and they won it by being jammy gits playing park the bus football.

What an absolutely fantastic result for Roma, one of the best results ever in the CL, such a pisser that I can't even enjoy it properly, because all it means is that Liverpool now have an even better chance of winning the fucking thing.

Real, Bayern, Barca....we even made Juve look fucking ordinary for most of it.....we are witnessing the the a decaying of an era. Such a shame it's not us capitalising this season, it's been a decade or so since the CL was this easy to win for someone other than the uber clubs.

No doubt playing at Wembley has been a big thorn and it’s going to take time to adjust to our new digs I’m sure. But that’s just part and parcel of our situation isn’t it? Liverpool, despite loosing one of their best players have actually started to sort out that god awful defence and there is no doubt their attack is the best in the league. Yes that is mostly down to Salah but our goals are mostly down to Kane. I don’t want to argue as to why Liverpool are good, because I’m no fan, but I really don’t see the gap. I’m in no way suggesting they are better, but we are not really so far ahead despite the handicap of Wembley. And IF they win the CL that would be a massive achievement, from this round on they can only play the best of the best so winning it is no small feet for any club. Yes we dominated them, but in past seasons they have dominated us despite us finishing above them. This season they have dominated city, does that make Liverpool better then City and thusly us? Are we better then Real?

As for taking Salah and Firmino out of the team, you could say the same for us, you take Kane and Eriksen out of our team and we would struggle, you could take Messi and Suarez out of Barca and so would they. I don’t think saying their great form relies on two players is much of a damnation. To me it suggest they have one or maybe two world class players.

As said originally tho, I still think we can grow bigger then them but we need to make the right signings as Liverpool will continue to splash the cash as it is unfortunately starting to pay off. They will no doubt go out and spend 70 odd mil on Lemar or the like and we certainly won’t. It’s going to be interesting to see the next phase of THFCs evelution as we really could become a massive club if the right moves are made and we continue to improve. Loosing the likes of Toby and a Walker is not a good start but there are bound to be hiccups along the way.

I don't agree with that. I think the whole Wembley hoodoo thing was nonsense. We started the season slowly. We started the previous two seasons slowly too. The last three seasons we have come into our own around Xmas time. The trend suggests it is nothing to do with Wembley.

I despise Liverpool. I'll be furious if we finish below them in the league and they'll be fucking unbearable if they win the Champion's League, which I can really see them doing now.
