It has to be all about him
I remember the exact moment I decided Ronaldo was an egomaniac.

When United won the CL against Chelsea, and Anelka's pen was saved, all the United players ran to Van der Sar and celebrated as a team. Ronaldo, though, stayed on his own, kneeling downs and raising his hands to the sky or some such shit, clearly wanting the attention on him.

I think it's getting a bit unfair this comment - all referees are shite (and he made the right decision in this case). English referees are definitely not worse than the rest of the world.
to each his own. But FIFA does not want a soft pen called in the 93rd minute, nor do they want superstars shown a Red. They prefer refs who use a bit of discretion given the match circumstances.

You can say it was an "obvious" pen - but it was very soft - very little actual contact.

Deffo a pen, none of the ball and took the player out lol

Yep. If that’s not a pen then I’ve no idea what is.

They’ll go on about it being controversial because every penalty has to be nowadays.

Very brave from Oliver to give it. He should get some credit.

I believe he just buried his head on the floor and cried...I think that's ok

How can anyone say that's not a penalty?

I know. Just because certain players don’t desperately try and stay on their feet doesn’t mean it isn’t a penalty.

He’s goal side a few yards out and is prevented from shooting by a player barging into him.

Vasquez was hitting the deck long before Benatia was withjng ten yards of him, and Oliver took great glee in sending off Juventus only hope of surviving the penalty, if it was any other side I’d feel sympathy. But it’s a side managed by one classless **** in Allegri and containing another in Chiellini, terrible losers and terrible winners, so I have no sympathy. They can go fuck themselves.

What's more English refs are not trained on VAR which they'll be using in the tournament but let's not ruin the narrative shall we.

That's just not true, is it. He just made no effort to stay on his feet once barged. No need to exaggerate unless you really don't think it was a foul, which it absolutely was.

As for Buffon, that's on him. I get the emotions and everything but every player who goes at the ref like that should be sent off. I just wish refs would be more consistent on that.
