Fantastic competition this champions league innit.

So glad we were part of it this season. Was pretty much a neutral the past 2 nights and the drama was better then any movie... Ever!

I want to say I want more drama tomorrow..... But most likely it won't happen in the game we want it to (fingers crossed thou)

What's more English refs are not trained on VAR which they'll be using in the tournament but let's not ruin the narrative shall we.
Plus FIFA work off a long list of refs that are supplied two years before the tournament.

England’s representative on this long list was Mark Clattenburg who gave up his spot when he left England to chase the £££ in Saudi Arabia.

Nothing to do with the quality of remaining refs but like you say that doesn’t fit people’s narrative in the new fake news world :bag:

Vasquez was hitting the deck long before Benatia was withjng ten yards of him, and Oliver took great glee in sending off Juventus only hope of surviving the penalty, if it was any other side I’d feel sympathy. But it’s a side managed by one classless **** in Allegri and containing another in Chiellini, terrible losers and terrible winners, so I have no sympathy. They can go fuck themselves.

You missed out that odious Schezny?

I still don't think that's a clear penalty at all.

Think a lot on here are clouded by the fact we lost to Juve.

It was a defo pen, Vasquez was pushed in the back

Basically the defender has taken the advantage away from the attacker unfairly, how can that not be a foul?

I don't think there's a push. I think Vasquez goes down incredibly easily.

If that was given against Spurs we'd be furious.

He was waiting to head it in and the defender, who was the wrong side of him, basically assaulted him. Clear pen in my opinion. Juventus are nasty and very bad losers.

It was a pen and a sending off.

Said the same about Chielini after the last game, but what's Allegri done/said to earn your ire ?

Cant believe some people think that isn't a penalty. He's completely the wrong side and in desperation tries to run through Vazquez all arms and legs in order to win the ball.

The only ones who have done wrong there are the Juve defence, half a dozen of them caught ball watching instead of being in the right position for the second ball, and so undid all their good work and were brutally punished.

What a thoroughly gloriously brilliant shower of shite that was. more evidence of the decline of the teams that have been dominating European football for the last decade or so.

It was great to watch but largely because Real can't defend and Juve had fuck all to lose. As soon as they did, they just reverted to being Juve and fucked away everything they'd fought so hard to recover.

I would rather Juve went through, because I think all the other teams will suit Liverpool more, who struggle more against the pragmatists than they do against the pro-actives, and it would have been such an incredible turn around, even against this waining Real, but watching them bottle it like that after Chielini's "bottler" jibes last round was just fucking hilarious.

Buffon is even more hilarious after the match.

Zidane might end the season with more UCL medals than Ferguson.

I'm not sure if Zidane is so good or extremely lucky. Feels like the latter. His team in Europe often gets late or fortunate breaks.

he is very good at man management....you have to be a masterful politician to balance things at Real and he has done so.
well done to him.

I think it was a pen. Not nailed on but better than 50-50. The defender pushed him in the back and wrapped a leg around him without getting a sniff of the ball and Vazguez almost certainly wouldve scored. And I assume Buffon said something that warranted a red.

I remember the exact moment I decided Ronaldo was an egomaniac.

When United won the CL against Chelsea, and Anelka's pen was saved, all the United players ran to Van der Sar and celebrated as a team. Ronaldo, though, stayed on his own, kneeling downs and raising his hands to the sky or some such shit, clearly wanting the attention on him.

or after taking off his shirt and running to the corner after a meaningless penalty 3rd goal in extra time when Gareth Bale had won it 10 minutes earlier against Atletico in the CL finals.

Oliver got this assignment as a "You had a good season so here's a wrapped up Champions League knockout stage match. Maybe in a few years you'll be getting a semi-final." And it turned into the biggest match of his young career. Fair play to him. He got the biggest decision right.

Quite pleased to see Juve lose in the worst way possible. Dirty scumbags. Good to see Chiellini and Buffon moaning. Suck it up.
