To think some geniuses on here were turning their noses up at the thought of Bale coming back this summer. Idiots.

Entertaining second half. A couple of absolute howlers from the goalkeeper, I thought the Liverpool goal was also really bad defending of what was such an obvious set piece, but in amongst it all a stupendous goal worthy of winning any football match.

Real controlled most of it, were set up well and minimised counter attacking opportunities (and Salah going off was a big blow), and Bale will make the headlines, but I thought Benzema deserved a lot of credit. He gets a lot of stick, but he constantly ran the channels, showed for it, held the ball up, linked up play, and more than anyone deserved that (massive) bit of fortune for the opening goal. Ronaldo in comparison had a bit of a shocker.
